I worked on this ship for 9 months in 2003 and sometimes I can’t even believe the things I saw and did on this ship. There was non stop drama and scandal. Every morning it was like a gossip session amongst the crew. So many great memories. I need to write them down or something.

When I worked for Liberty Travel, they owned the Regal Empress in the 90's. Great old ship, personal service that is missing today!

I took a cruise to Bermuda on the Meridian in 1991, and it was a great experience.

First cruise in 1993 when I was 11. The sound of the pinball machine in the Teen Club tour caught my attention. I hadnt heard that in 31 years, but I remember it like yesterday.

Those midnight buffets and giant ice sculptures were amazing. I gained 7 pounds during on our cruise. It was our first and we fell in love with cruising.

This was so obviously geared towards the upper-class waspy 50 plus crowd… “hey I know that guy, he narrates forensic files!” that alone was enough to comfort the husbands into watching this video their wife initially had to force him to watch with her.

The original Horizon, Zenith and later Century were much better than today's product. It changed when Royal Caribbean bought them. While still good, it pales compared to the original Celebrity.

I believe this was the ship and itinerary covered by David Foster Wallace’s (hilarious) essay, “A Supposedly Fun Thing I’ll Never Do Again.” Unbelievable to see how much cruising had evolved from the 90s to even just ten years later.

These commercials just hit different. Yes the ships looked like this. No one dressed like bums on embarkation or another other day. NO twerking. Glad I cruised before low level was acceptable..😢

I sailed on her , The Con , with mom ,dad and sister March of 64 ,Genoa to New York City with stops in ,Nice and Mediera .We were in tourist class , down the hall from the theatre , so not good at all , the service was poor , the weather was bad and we had to get dressed and walk down the hall every time we wanted to use the restroom .Also my parent's marriage was going through a rough time .

Wow...KZbin is a true time machine! I remember watching this video back in the 80s numerous times on VHS prior to sailing on the tropicale in 1987. Last time I saw this video was in 1987, and nearly 37 years later, here it is again, watching again for the 1st time.
This takes me back - I worked on the Holiday as a croupier, before transferring the Celebration and then into Holland America's Westerdam.

I took the original Celebration in 2019 during it's late run stint with BPCL. I had to. I love cruise ships so much. I've been going since I was 10 and my first was the Fantasy. This was back in 04.

I worked 3 ships for Carnival (1993)as a musician! It was the greatest job I ever had! They are all great people that were very good to Me! I have since invested in Carnival stocks and have really enjoyed seeing the company continue to grow through its people building and with job promotions from within!
