I remember watching this live on T.V. and was blown away by how loud the crowd was for each strike thrown by Berenguer in the 9th. The World Series later that month at that place might've been just as loud, but I didn't see the same pitch-by-pitch frenzied reaction as in this ALCS 9th-inning, Berenguer craziness!

Kirby Puckett especially in this game carried the Twins on his back. The amazing catch in left center. And of course the walk off homer in the 12th inning over that same left field wall.

That lefty Atlanta brought in in the 11th inning of Game 6 seemed like he was throwing 84 mph fastballs. It just looked like pure junk.

If the World Series was in an even year, the Braves would have won. The Twins had the greatest home field advantage in history, and they proved it on the road in the 87 and 91 World Series.

Puckett, Gaetti and Viola and other players DID PEDs at the end of the season! Established by Bill James. Read his books. Same in 1991 though other players too involved. Puckett DIED from first generation PEDs. He was a swollen mess on his death bed. Twins need to have all championships revoked by MLB.

@@sethhillyer4443 jealous? Of what? I was responding to you making the totally nonsensical claim that this team makes the playoffs regularly. That would only be true if you were born within the last 2 or 3 years. You clearly know nothing about the twins, and quite frankly who YOU are talking to. But I don't need to flash my clear superiority as a person because being right, which I always am, speaks for itself.

I don't blame Dennis Martinez, as I believe the pitch honestly just got away, but I still hate to hear the name "Dennis Martinez". Kirby Puckett was still in his prime when he developed glaucoma, and likely would have had 4 to 6 more highly productive seasons ahead of him, likely reaching 3000+ hits, 300+ home runs, and both 1400+ RBI and RS. Probably the saddest day in MN Twins history, perhaps even more than the day that Sandy Koufax beat the Twins 2-0 in Game 7 of the 1965 WS.
