OK so the criticism of the small side mirrors misses the fact that the visibility around the car from the drivers seat I would argue is better than most modern cars. You don't need large side mirrors when there is plenty of glass to see out of and thin A, B, and C Pillars. 🤓

@@speedfiend925 that’s fair. My c pillar on 2012 challenger was huge. But I stand by the side mirrors being comically small

I have a 1990 lx HO 5.0 with a T-5 5speed If u have a T-5 5speed and ur 302 is still healthy, a foxbody mustang can still keep up down low stop light to stop light with a lot of cars that have double the HP. Now u will lose on the top end if u are still stock Foxbody still has an advantage over the new cars, and that's a weight advantage Foxbody's for life

I've owned my 82 Capr RS 5.0 since new, with 370k+ daily driven miles! Upgrades... T-5 and 8.8 with 3:55. The engine has remained unmolested and never been opened. I have only changed the timing chain since replacing the front seal. No quirks have been noted!

That is a really clean 80's GT. it's hard to believe it's about 36 years old already. I've owned two, 90' and 93' that were purchased new at about 16,000 each. They were fun cars that were comfortable and fast at that time. My only dislike was the manual trans as they both had issues, but they sounded great with Flow Masters.. I'm also not a fan of the revised front end and thought earlier versions were a bit better looking. Enjoy your pristine GT

I’ve had days/weeks where I had to drive my 91 LX 5.0 5sp daily because one of our other cars were down. It’s very reliable. Mine has a strong stock engine with 112k but I’ve got a ton of “day 2” mods. 3.73 gears, staggered wheels/tires, off road h-pipe, Flowmasters, Hurst Ford Performance billet short throw shifter, aluminum driveshaft. Ice cold AC but honestly my top is down 90% of the time. I get as many thumbs up as if I was driving a 1968 Mustang. I’ve had mine almost 7 years now. Best things about the car is it sounds amazing and parts are available and cheap.
@cassandralesh853629 күн бұрын
Net horsepower measured at the output of the transmission is what Ford advertised. 225 for the manual and 220 for the automatic. The horsepower at the crank was closer to 250. 245-247 is common on a good condition motor. Theses are still fast cars but where they used to rule the streets, they're not anymore. These cars dominated scca racing. I bought my 89 auto gt in 99 with 60k miles on it. My brother who was a mechanic serviced it, bumping the timing up and put a cat back system on it. We timed 0-60 at 5.9 he said if you can get it to hook up better you could probably do 5.8. I still have the car. It looks like garbage and has some blow by but it still runs and drives.
