How is your 055 doing now in regards to the center column? My 190 carbon developed scratching up and down the column like yours, and it ended up developing notches in the column where the tightening thing (idk what to call it) digs into the carbon fiber. I changed it to the aluminum version(the rest is still carbon fiber, but the center column is aluminum) and it hasnt had a single issue since. Any update on yours?

Ridiculous 'review'. Reason #1 is just silly, if you want serious heavy duty, buy a 400 geared head for $1,000. Reason #2 shows that this guy does not understand how a detent mechanism works. Reason #3 indicates a faulty mechanism. Did he think about contacting Manfrotto? I have a 415 head and I emailed them and got a reply back almost immediately, clear, succinct and solved the problem.

You titled this video Tuffy Box for FJ Cruiser Review, but you spent over five minutes talking about the stuff in your box......not really telling us about the box. Things like the box's features, materials its built with, security, the side panels area, locking system, smoothness of drawer rails, proper fit inside the vehicle etc. I appreciate you showing the box, but the title led me to believe you were going to spend time describing the box and how well it works or doesn't work.

I’ve never experienced the movement issue once it’s all set and that was with a prime 300mm. And mine don’t squeak either. Try some grease!! However, for what it does, IT’S A CHEAP HEAD!!!! I don’t expect it to be entirely made of metal or feel like an expensive head It’s half the cost and more than a 410 so what do people expect. Is it a great head that I can 100% recommend? No. But for me it’s good enough. If I needed better I’d buy better.

My Carbon 190 has done the same thing. I replaced the center column with the aluminum version 2 years ago (the rest is still carbon fiber) and it hasnt had any problems since. A bit of an odd solution but it worked for me!!

Hi. I'm considering buying this camera bag and have been watching numerous review videos to help make up my mind. I have to say, yours is not only the best video review of this bag, but the best video review of ANY bag (and, believe me, over the years I've watched hundreds). So I just want to say a huge thanks for your time and immaculate presentation. Cheers, mate.

Seems like you're whining. The basic design of the pack is excellent for someone that wants a good camera / hiking backpack. How you pack your equipment is on you.

The ClickElite packs are all AMAZING! I have a few different sizes/styles. Thanks for the review on this one as I've seen it on Ebay recently. BTW - the zipper thumb holders are also zipper licks when you thread the ends into the hole. Really great for having it on a plane or in a crowded situation.

Yesterday I was looking at the xpro vs the 410. I went with the xpro bc of the lower price and nice levers. Last night I was using it with my P1000 to take pics of Saturn and Jupiter. The slop in the way the gear/lever/spring holds it is utter junk and very frustrating, especially at zoom. I exchanged it today for the 410, Night and Day difference. Don't buy the xpro, just go with the 410.

Sorry but also the 410 isn't professional foolproof head. both are good for pro-amateur with normal equipment. 405 is noticeably better as some high-end products from Arca Swiss for example. If you put a reflex plus supertele you have a big cantilever. you cant't PLAY with this set-up like youtubers do. With a P1000 at full focal extension you'll have problems also with a super precise stepper motor, it's not Manfrotto xpro fault.

Good review! Nothing against the Flipside 450 (I got one), but IMO the Flipside Trek is a value for money series so loading it with 26 pounds is a bit optimistic. Interesting test though. Also, about the Photo Sport BP 300 - it's actually possible to fit a tripod. A travel tripod will fit inside the pack. It slides down beside the photo compartment and its a feature that makes the Photo Sport BP 300 one of my favorite photo packs. The harness is kind of weak though when the pack is fully loaded.

Hi Jake, I noticed you did not really understand that the other metal in this head is in the gears. All the play you have introduced into the head gear system is due to the fact that you have used it for 3 months without lubrication. A tiny bit of white grease (Lubriplate) will solve your problem, keeping the gears running smoothly and not introducing excessive wear or play. Also, knowing the gears must be completely engaged after using the macro movement should have been learned the first time it happened. Simply make sure it didn't happen again. This only leaves your first point of the unit being made out of "plastic". Modern molded composite materials are not without their benefits and it is noted that you really did not have any criticisms other that the use of the word "cheap" or "plastic". 3 strikes, you're out. For the price, this is a very good unit. I use mine for Astronomy with a very heavy pair of large binoculars. Quick field-of-find, finite adjustment, accuracy, and stability are required.

I just bought it. Even after this review. I don’t think this is how the head will be. I feel that it’s a fault with your one. I am surprised you couldn’t get a warranty repair within the warranty period. Sounds like you spoke to some AH who had a bad day. I have used Manfrotto for years and trust the stability. I hope you got sorted in the end. I’m sure it was not a global issue 🙏

I am curious to know if there is some wasted space on the sides where those fascia plates are (one of them near your subwoofer). Is there storage space access there from the top? How close to the rear seat does the Tuffy box get? p.s. Sorry to ask this question years after the original post.
@ecko1882
@ecko1882 3 жыл бұрын
Everything is tight against the rear seats. The sides have storage so you don't lose space there either. I leave an extension cord plugged into my outlet because it can be a pain to get to.

A 200-500 might be a bit large, I don't know its dimensions thought. In our tests we used a Canon 6d and a 70-200 attached and was able to store it. If you find the dimensions of that setup and yours it will get you closer to your definite answer.

This is a great review. I like the way you broke down the different aspects of this bag, especially the Flipside section because this is the main reason I am looking at Flipside series.
