Corporate remote work will never go away at this point, and the better companies will know how to embrace this fact. The "face to face is better for productivity" argument is a sweeping generalization, and in most cases usually incorrect. Let me give you an example, I live new New York City, where I used to commute to every day for 1.5 hours EACH way. Since the pandemic I have worked 99% from home, and my productivity is nearly double. On the rare days I go into the office, I lose the ability to take morning calls and late afternoon calls, not to mention as part of a global team 80% of my peers are not even in the NYC location. The modern corporate worker now EXPECTS the flexibility in being able to take their dog for a walk around the block when you have 20 minutes to spare (as one of many examples). Let's be honest, the pandemic demonstrated what is now truly important in people's lives, which is REAL work/life balance, flexibility and passion for what you do. Companies forcing people back into the office will lose in the end. I know I wouldn't deal with it and I am not alone. The "pre pandemic" office is a thing of the past. Thanks for reading my two cents :)
