I'm glad your dog seems well in this video but I'm horrified that you let her jump up and down on those bricks and she is not leashed and could take off running at anytime. Those are strict rules to follow so soon after this surgery. Please don't get mad maybe you were unaware but I would hate for anyone else to view this video and think this is how recovery is supposed to be.

Hi +RandyD4 I'm Not sure if you still use your channel, But whenever you read this please do reply. I'm so glad I've found this video, my 9 month old Chiuawah has just been diagnosed with a Luxating Patella today, she is walking on the leg and then sometimes hopping. It doesn't seem to be causing her any pain. I think it "comes and goes" as it slips out of place, can you tell me anything you done to help Annie? Also I think if it does worsen I will get Bella (the dog) surgery, I heard it can be expensive though? :( But I'm starting to save from today just incase. This video made me so happy to see another little dog with the same condition walking along in no pain. thank you.

Acupuncture would not have helped Annie. You can see her knee was out by the way she walked. It's getting close to two years since her surgery. She is doing great! She runs full speed and cuts circles in the yard. You can see the smile on her face when she runs. Of course the knee bothers her a little, especially when it rains. I would do it again. Just make sure you have a good surgeon.

Should have tried acupuncture along with adequan first! It really works and it is about 1/2 the cost of surgery, plus no needed rehabilittion! That's what I got for my siberian husky and it truly worked! Ask your vet about acupuncture and adequan first!!! Don't let them talk you into surgery

Thank you for you comment. The pool is not fancy, it's just a small pool and we struggle to make ends meet like most people. This was just a little over one year ago, and when little Annie was diagnosed with the luxating patella it blind sided us. We had to find a way to come up with the money for the surgery, but not only that, we had to find a way to work and be with her through the rehabilitation, which was 8 weeks. Looking back now, I'm glad we did it.

With a fancy pool like that, i would say you have the money to have it surgically corrected. Why did you even post it?
@pineappleprincess5138

@RandyD4

Yes. I was very concerned before the surgery but you may have seen the KZbin video of Annie before the surgery. She couldn't use the leg at all and was walking on three legs all the time. Now it's been nearly a year since the surgery. She is happy and runs and cuts circles in the yard. She still favors the knee and when she trots she picks up the leg and used three legs. But for the most part we are well pleased and do not regret it one bit.

Annie still lifts her leg at times, especially when running. I don't think it hurts her, i think it's habit. It's much better than before the surgery and I would do it again. The recover is about 12 weeks overall but the first 3 or 4 the hardest because you have to keep him restricted from jumping up on the bed or couch. He'll be better soon and back to his own self.

Thanks to Brian and the staff at Sun Cycle Center, Tavares FL for modding this trike to fit my needs. I had the three speed Shimano hub replaced with a seven speed Shimano hub. A special handlebar was placed below the hand cranks and the shifter and brake cables were moved off the hand cranks and onto the stationary custom handlebar.

Gee, if a fellow had one of those, a reasonably nice wife, and maybe a banjo, he'd need to sit on a nest of fire ants on a regular absis, just to keep from grinning ALL the TIME!!
