I'm so damn sure Reaper 7.30 is gonna change my life 🧬 forever ♾️!! It's been a week and I'm already working on my project from scratch! I've worked on FL Studio and Logic Pro X but Reaper is so simple and clean like we can learn it within a day or a week all the basics and we might be able to master it within a month or so i feel 🥲🤞🏻 I'm so so motivated to create my own music 🎶 with Reaper than ever before as it's so lightweight and fast like ⚡ I'm thankful to the creator and the Reaper community 🙏🏻 and i hope Reaper will grow a lot into the mainstream and compete with the commercial heavy 🪨 DAWs out there for artists and musicians from all backgrounds to work together and create an unbiased transparent platform without much financial and technical barriers! Kudos to our Reaper team 🥳🫶🏻🌱

I worked with computers for over 30 years to make a living; I don't do Windows™. Since the introduction of Mac OS X, Mac has been based on UNIX (and I am a dyed in the wool UNIX bigot). If I have to touch a Windows™ machine, (usually helping a friend), I'm going to need a lot of hand sanitizer or better yet, a shower afterwards. In general, Windows™does not play nice with others and that is intentional. Windows™ was literally designed to be incompatible with non-Windows™ systems. I do have my issues with Apple, but in general it is a superior platform to work on. Not just for audio production, but for everything. (... Though I can't speak about gaming because I'm not a gamer.)

I switched to Reaper 3 days ago, and I will never look back. The next best DAW is Mixcraft, but it only works on windows, 3rd in line is Protools LE 5.1.1 on Mac G4. I've tried Studio One, Logic, Garage Band, Avid's messed up version of Protools, Sonar, Ableton, Waveform, Audacity. Bonus mention: N-track Studio is really really awesome on Android, I don't like the computer version as well, But it's got the best sequencer in the world. However "MODO" drums broke my midi driver and I had to reinstall osx, so I am now using an outboard sound module for writing basic drum lines before getting on the real drumset. The best thing about Reaper is you can use the full version and then decide whether you want to pay for it, unlike other DAW's that have the opposite model of "Pay us now and be mad later". AND ABSOLUTELY ANY Fader control surface can be programmed to work with it, and it's fairly easy to do, and you can hook up as many as you like and even use multiple brands and models of Control surfaces together at the same time, and you can make session templates that represent how you will be using your studio. Nothing is easier than Reaper

I'm getting an 'iPhone vs Android' kind of vibe. As a bedroom producer who works in Ableton, I've never felt the urge to change shortcut key combinations or add personalization. So far, I've noticed that MIDI editing capabilities in Reaper feel like a workaround upon workaround. For instance, with scales: in Ableton, you just click once on a 'scale' button to activate it. In Reaper, it seems you need to create custom actions/scripts, use obscure key combinations, and so on.

Sounds like a feature required only for those who lack knowledge in basic music theory. Basically a ' play the right notes for me or else I can't compose a melody ' button

I made this list for people like me. Who produce from a standpoint of fully controlling the software. Ableton is in a box, if you like that box, that's fine. Reaper users don't want to stay in that box. They want to be in control.

@@reapertutorials1947 Damon Albarn from Blur/Gorillaz made an entire album in GarageBand. Reaper or Ableton, whatever-it’s just a tool. You like it? Good for you. If you weren’t a snob who "does not want to stay in the box," you might notice that Ableton has the Max for Live platform, which essentially allows users to create their own instruments, effects, and so on. It has a huge community and overall expands the Ableton experience, making your comment about the "box thing" kind of meaningless. Of course, you can go deeper and start giving examples about how you can change icons or adjust how the scroll line looks in Reaper. Honestly, I don’t care. You’ve made your point: Reaper is God’s gift, and only a few chosen ones can unveil its power. I heard a lot of positive things about the Reaper community. But, let's assess your responses critically (I’m also speaking about the previous guy)-if the Reaper community is so cool, welcoming, and unique, maybe you could explain your perspective succinctly, point to some resources, or offer something constructive. Instead, the first comment was aimed at diminishing me-"oh look at this peasant who doesn’t know music theory and can’t play a melody." One could know music theory but have a different musical background. For instance, I’m primarily a guitarist, and I know music theory quite well for my needs; I just happen to lack keyboard experience. So what now? Do I need to get a PhD from Berklee before I’m allowed to have fun and produce my own music? The second comment was even better-"Ableton is just for limited, 'in-the-box' pseudo-musicians who don’t know music theory." Yeah, I see how the Reaper community is so good, welcoming, and unique. Usually, I don’t argue with strangers on the internet-it’s quite stupid-and I admit I’m breaking my own rules and acting a bit foolish. I have nothing against Reaper. I tried it, I didn’t like it, and I moved on. I have a licensed version of Ableton, and I’m happy with it. But this pretentious and gatekeeping approach irritated me and dragged me into this conversation. That said, I’ve said everything I wanted to. Have fun sitting in your box, chosen ones.

I used to be a ACID pro user, Studio One, Cakewalk, and Mixcraft Pro user, I still like Mixcraft, but now looking to get back into making music and looking to get into something more robust, was thinking of Ableton, but since I saw your video....I will defiantly check our Reaper... and a new Subscriber here, thank you for your videos! Well, this is indeed a great DAW. I changed to reaper a few years ago and after an adaptation learning curve, now I'm all in. Still can't believe the price vs power of this. Protools is a benchmark, but they dropped the ball to the musicians of today, in the real world, and how's the industry is heading. Most of music is done on a laptop by musicians that can't afford protools. It's the same to other industries.

Years ago I was thorn between buying Komplete and Omnisphere. In the end I bought Komplete. Massive was the big hype. Everyone was making tutorials on Massive. Now it's forgotten. It takes few more steps to make it sound the way I want so honestly I rarely go trough the trouble. I tried almost every synth on the list. And in the end I am using the synths native to FL Studio and Odin2. Odin2 is free, easy on the eyes, souns good and easy on CPU. I would have bought Diva but it's so heavy on CPU it's practically more intensive than 10+ Massive instances running at the same time. That's sad.
