I really enjoy this song musically very fine. Theologically good right up till you cut the heart of the gospel out with your tiny offering you kill us all. This has nothing to do with Christianity. It is about the singers battle with loneliness whilst growing up. He has spoken openly about it in an interview and I asked him at a show once more. He moved around a lot (1-2 years) growing up because his father was working in the humanitarian line of work. So he's been to so many places until his late teens and never had actual friends. When he says " Are you ever coming home?".... it is directed to his parents who were away a lot too when it was just him and his brother. He used to just do things with his brother and the first line in "Inveitable" also points it out. It was not until he was in college when he met the other members of the band who were his first real friends.

For whatever reason, I can't directly reply to Spencer Hines' post, so Spencer, I hope you see this: This song is, from what I've gathered, about people who are depressed and feel alone in their problems. Many of the verses detail a sense of isolation and desperation. The guitar riff sounds like a siren and gives the impression that the person is sending out a distress signal and even calling out (hello, hello) for others and God to help him/her. This is also dealing with the doubt of the existence of God and how many people abandon or question God's existence when terrible events occur in life. It's a very complicated and heavy song.
