It's the same issue for Whittaker's Doctor, the writing barred them from greatness. Baker's Doctor has become one of the most iconic and it helps that he was given a far better script and story. He was resurrected, and honestly Mel is too! So much so Mel is a bad ass in NuWho! It really feels like John Nathan Turner is to blame with this incarnation. Just... so much went wrong. But all of that to say Big Finish did him right. Even with a new outfit. (Now if he only had a sonic screwdriver... and the sonic lance doesn't count.)

The very first episode of Dr Who was on my 9th birthday. It was the best present, even though the Doctor himself was pretty scary !

The kits come taped together in the way they need to be glued so pretty easy

@louiemarquis4987 Ahh thanks for letting me know! Which brand of glue or wood glue do you recommend, and should I apply a coat of primer on the pieces before I paint them? Sorry it'll be my first time assembling a JB TARDIS model kit and I want to make sure I get the right equipment and such! 😅

I used gorilla glue from B&Q (basically any glue that sticks wood or multi material). I never used primer when painting but probably best as you won't need as many coats of paint

B&Q's own brand works for me. You could probably paint 4 1:13 scale kits with 1 test pot

I agree. At this time in the history of Doctor Who, the show was getting A LOT of complaints about the violence. In a way I do sort of agree, but the violence in my eyes is also a way to make things a lot more realistic. Even Mark Strickson said in 1984 (I think…) that Doctor Who at that time WAS NOT a popular show anymore.

For me Doctor Who ended on March 21st 1981, when Tom left. While I enjoyed Peter and Colin's time there was never again that quintessential "magic" that made it "my" show growing up. When it returned in 86 the show looked cheap, over lit and acted like something from a school play. I think Revelation would have been a great place for the show to end.

1986 series looked cheap? It had the most expensive effects of classic Who ever. Over-lit? The only scenes overlit were those in Marb Station in 'The Mysterious Planet' - That's less than half of the season. 'Mindwarp' and 'The Ultimate Foe' were perfectly low lit and moody. Acted like a school play? Are you serious? Michael Jayston? Joan Sims? Brian Blessed? Patrick Ryecart? Honor Blackman? These actors are all amateurs to you? I suppose true embarassments like 'The Horns of Nimon' and all of season 17, which DID have all the faults you state about season 23, is superb in your mind? Thats why i loathe certain fans like you. Your clearly lie and besmirch anything that is drunken Tom Baker and his embarrassingly unfunny ad libs or him shushing every other actor around him.

The windows are made up of plastic lids cut to size, I got a couple of lids from B&Q. The frosted adhesive film for the pebbled look I got off of Amazon

7:32 oddly enough i always found legend of the cybermen to be my least favourite of that trilogy, largely due to the fact i was consistently disappointed with it not using the concept to its fullest potential

Whatever!!! Tom going was way overdue! Arrogant pisshead, adlibbing pathetic, unfunny gags whenever he felt like it and saying "Sssshhhhh" everytime any other actor spoke. Most rejoiced when he finally f'd off and there was an impromptu conga in southeast London after part four of Logopolis aired.

The show looked cheap and tacky after Season 23. Ghost Light and Remembrance and Fenric aside, it was...not good. Michael Grade's strange and unfounded belief in '85 that sci fi wasn't popular...Star Wars? the Star Trek films? Alien? Excuse me?...led to them slashing the budget to nothing when the wise move woulda been to QUADRUPLE it and sell it to the Yanks.

Proper Dr Who DID end with Revelation. Everything after felt small scale and a little desperate. Trial was a brave effort under the circumstances and did feel a little like previous seasons but after the complete revamp of 1987 it was a lame duck. I do think there were a few great stories from s25 and 26 but it felt like it was on borrowed time and a different programme

Season 22 is one of the best seasons in all of classic Doctor Who. There are fans who have trouble thinking for themselves and don't like it because Michael Grade told them it was bad.

No I say this as a fan of the classic series it was genuinely awful one of the worst, are you really telling me Timelash is one of the best Doctor who stories? Or the other rubbish in that season like attack of the Cybermen, the two doctors, the snooze fest that is mark of the Rani the only 2 stories in that season I like is Vengeance on Varos and Revelation of the Daleks. Grade was right it was past it and the next 2 seasons proved his point the show only started to get good again by its last 2 seasons by then it was too little too late.

I'm not sure I'd go quite that far, but it was a perfectly decent and enjoyable season for me overall. Timelash was not good but I find the rest to be at least decent, and in the case of "Vengeance on Varos" and "Revelation of the Daleks", pretty great. While it certainly doesn't reach the same highs, I'd say it maintained a similar level of quality to Season 21 and was actually more consistent (then again it's hard to be LESS consistent than the season that gave us "The Caves of Androzani" and "The Twin Dilemma " back to back).

This is... sort of true. I agree that he's great with Evelyn, and he's written very well with Peri in a lot of audios (mostly the ones written by Nev Fountain, who's Nicola Bryant's husband)... buuut I can't say that he kept that throughout. Big Finish managed to sand off literally all the edges of his character and turn him into the most uninteresting, safe, utterly generic Doctor imaginable. The decline started with Flip, continued into stories with Mel, and really accelerated with Constance. You listen to these Constancs stories, or stories with both Flip and Constance, and it's virtually impossible to tell that it's the Sixth Doctor. You could give these lines to Peter Davison and it would make complete sense. He is ungodly boring and it honestly ruins so many of these late-run Main Range stories.

the glass that was used for the tv movie box was hammered glass , its like the pebbled glass effect but bigger basically :D giving it its difference , will you be making the modern boxes of jamie's? if so i can help there when its comes to reference , i supplied Jamie with the dimensions for the modern boxes so he could make the kits
