It's interesting to hear how he speaks about countries in this era attempting to expand their territory while that is still a thing today. I don't know why, but it just seems like in 2024 that wouldn't be something that's happening.

Its ok if you can't remember everything 😄 I'm terrible with history so a lot of this is new to me! I loved this style of video; relaxing but educational, so I can watch and learn a new thing or two and then drift off to sleep. Definitely subscribing!

Was Ethan Allen a traitor though? I don't think so, at least a quick Wikipedia scan doesn't support that. In addition, he founded Vermont, which he would unlikely be able to do had he switched sides

General Packenham. His body was famously sent back to Great Britain in a rum barrel, from which the sailors drank on the voyage home.

Annoying that details are not correct... However questions raised directly by documents are very good! Ruhr area is on the eastern side of Rhein, not in the French occupied Saarland area, which was part of Germany all along. France just occupied western bank, or Saarland, to gurrantee Versailles Agreement war reparation payments to France. You overlooked the interesting border discrepencies of Eastern Europe complitely of that map. THAT WAS THE INTERESTING PART: Why was Poland so weird? It never had those borders, I can tell by a look. I know historical maps. Poland had a part of Eastern Prussia, which was basically reduced to modern Kaliningrad are. Why? And look: Ukraine. Why? Eastern Europe is the interesting part of geopolitics. Ok. That was one map. The next: 1931 but Japanese invasion on Manchuria. Not China proper. That area, Qingdao, used to belong to Germany before WWI and was not transfered back to China but fell under Japanese domination. Unofficial.

I don't know if anyone would read this but the reason that part of China is shaded differently is to reflect it as a territory taken as a concession by the 8 nation alliance that suppressed the 1899 Boxer Rebellion.
