I keep coming back to this clip. I forgot I commented here 8 years ago. Still coming back. Raise it up is like the Detroit Anthem. Direct MPC sound is out of this world. The eternal return of Slum and Dilla!

This is legendary, thank you! i'm a big Dilla Dawg/SV fan (I even saw Dilla perform a few months before his death) and I had never seen footage of this period. I can't believe I'm actually watching them perform Raise It Up😮!!! Thank you🙏🏾

They have such a vibe. Music always so dope and unique flow and voices. Miss this bunch together. Batiin (sp) alone. SUCH a talent. Always looked forward to his verses.

I’m watching this video in 2024, sad cause baatin and dilla are gone, but their music continues to live on, SV is one of the greatest groups. Fantastic vol 2 is one of the greatest hip hop albums of all time. Long live SV!

Dilla was SUPER ahead of his time DJing the set on 2 MPCs. No doubt in my mind, he would've been rocking out with an MPC Live, SP-404 or something else if he was still here

Thank you soooo much for sharing Jon. I was a student back then a a local University. Fridays at St. Andrews were epic, and it was only $8 to get to see Slum perform all of this live! Incredible, and sometimes they'd have The Roots, Dela, Tribe & Common with them and a host of other Detroit greats, like Phat Kat, Guilty Simpson & a yung eLzhi. Man that was a great time to be alive.

SV forever. The shows at St. Andrews were Incredible. Slum is the absolute Best! Baatin killed his verse. Dilla Dj-ing & rhyming at the same time - Classic. Motor City Stand Up!
