If it is a Hot Spring, you can turn off one of the breakers if you are running it on 220V. Depending on the model, it could be the 20A, or the 30 Amp. Typically, larger spas will have the heater on the 20Amp, and on smaller, on the 30. Or you could just lower the temperature. The heater won't click on unless it drops below the set temperature.

I tried both ways. The hose was actually easier and better.

Surging jets almost always just mean a blockage in an intake. The aria has that weir door that floats to the water level… if that gets stuck, it will surge in high speed. Make sure that is down all the way when the jets are on. Also, the main filter is only the circulation pump. Surging comes from the jet pumps. Remove your filters, all of them, make sure there is no debris, and try the jets in high speed. If that works, again checking the weir door, then it’s time for a deep clean in your filters or a new set

You don’t need to drain your spa to do this. Just power out down, do this, and restart.

That's unlikely. If it is a Highlife Hot Spring Spa, it could be too much air in the filters (if the filters are brand new), or it could, more likely be clogged filters. The thing to check first would be to remove all the filters and try turning on the jets (ensure that you don't have any debris in the spa, so nothing gets sucked into the jet pump.). If it works, then you know that is the problem :)

@@PrescottSpasPrescottValley Great video. I have a 2007 Envoy too that seems to randomly stop heating. Resetting the power does the trick, but any idea on what would be causing it to stop heating after sitting for a few days?

I would just restart the spa, with no filters. If you still get bubbles from the bottom, it's most likely not a flow problem (pressure switch problem.) But resetting the spa might reset the heater. If that doesn't work, it may be mechanical. Most likely a thermistor.

Hi Heather! If it is the jets that aren't turning over, it could be air in the actual pump itself. If you have bubbles coming up from the bottom of the spa, the circulation pump and heater should be fine. You could try to remove the filters entirely, and run the jets (you should hear a hum at the very least) for a few minutes to see if they turn over without the filters in. Otherwise, you may have to get in the equipment compartment to bleed the air out of the pump itself (normally you do not have to do this.)

@@PrescottSpasPrescottValley thanks for getting back to me so quickly! Remove the filters! Like the ones I take out and clean and replace? Yes I do have small bubbles coming out of the drain on the bottom, so m going to try to bleed the air out of the pump, there is nasty stuff that came out of the jets when I stuck the hose it in, so I’m going to put spa cleaner in as soon as I get the jets working and it up to temp

It actually doesn't really matter unless the water from the hose is a vastly different temperature from the rest of the water in the hot tub. It's probably safer to leave the power off and turn it back on when you are done :)

It sounds like a bug. Generally speaking, turning off the spa at the breakers and turning it back on will reboot the controls. Try that before we replace anything.

Hot Spring and Endless Pools are owned by the same company. Endless Pools has certain pools that are 58" tall for a 4' depth of water. The deepest hot tubs generally cap out at 38". Hot Spring has a few, but they are generally larger models.

To further clarify, it's definitely not locked, the minus temp button is just non-responsive. All other buttons work fine.

This is a common problem with these spas. I would try taking apart the control panel to see if you can pop the button loose and then get it to work again. Otherwise you may have to replace the control panel.

These buttons don’t last forever, my jets button seems to be stuck in place and won’t work, thankfully I do have the secondary jets button in the tub that still works.

Hi Galen, I'm not quite sure what you are referring to. Are you speaking to the bleed line (the small 1/2 inch line coming off a jet pump) with a drip? If so, the insert is easily replaceable if you use the right size. But you would need to verify that there is indeed a drip there

@@PrescottSpasPrescottValley , Yes, the bleed line is where I am feeling water but not sure it is coming from there. Is there water in the line all the time? I am loosing about three to four gallon in 24 hours. If it's not from that tube what else is close to the rear of the single stage motor that may be leaking?

@@galenbradley5765 If it is what we are thinking, it could be a cracked drain fitting (again, just guessing based on what you are saying.) It is a small 1/2" fitting on the wet end of the pump with a clear vinyl line coming out of it. It is designed to make sure you don't get air build up in the pump. Try taking a towel and dry up everything around it to make sure that is the case. Make sure nothing is coming out of the impeller area and the seal. When you get too much Calcium build-up, it could push the seal a bit and cause it to leak a little as well. In which case you'll want to rebuild the pump. What is your spa model and the year? That would help me ;)

@@PrescottSpasPrescottValley , I dried up all the water. From what I can see the fitting on the pump is dry. The first place I see water pooling is at the rear of the single stage motor right below the bleed line that comes off the two stage pump where it goes into the side of the spa body. My spa is an Envoy KK, Serial #KK2G1620. Thanks

I would actually pull your filters out, restart the spa, and see if it comes back to life :)

I think that you might need a new control panel. If your options is non-responsive... I don't see much choice, unfortunately.
