Karina, look forward to seeing you in Monson on the 31st. Informative promo, and delivered beautifully! I believe my son still uses one of the gifts I bought him many years ago from one of the vendors. Never too early to do Christmas and birthday shopping! 🛍 🎁

That is my great uncle, my grandmother's brother :) She is 98 now and is the last of her 10 siblings. She was very happy to live to see the bridge finally get named after him because it was originally talked about right when he died, but it was never done until now.

Actually, because Native Americans could load and shoot 3 to 4 arrows accurately to 1 pellet from settlers' guns. The reason Native Americans could do this they trained at a very young age of 5 to 7 years old up until they were considered young adults at 14 15 years old. They did extensive obsticles tracking shooting arrows and brutal training at the age of 5 up to 15 years. If they passed all the tests, they became honorable warriors. They also battled each other in hand to hand combat from young age up til they were 14 to 15. If they didn't pass these tests, they were ousted and had to leave the tribe. This is indeed true. Different tribes did things differently. Not all tribes did this, but a lot of them did. They did these trainings every single day from 5 to 14 or 15. I say 14 because some instances some profited very well with their skill.

That's too bad. If they Native Americans had the tools and skills and knew how to craft guns, the English would have been in trouble.

Grew up in Worcester County now 45 years old and have heard many legends of the Nipmuc tribe. In the 1990’s The town would hold a Nipmuc Pow Wow in N. Oxford Massachusetts in a park called Greenbrier Park. I have fond memories of being there. The town haven’t held the Pow Wow there since I was a teenager, they still do have them in other parts of MA and, CT * I know that there’s a grinding stone or a possibly an altar stone behind Greenville Baptist Church over where the Damn is. There’s a large tree that I would sit under after church when I was a kid and I know that the Rock is still there as it’s a very large flat rock with a large bowl shape in the middle albeit not quite deep but I think and, truly believe it was used for washing clothes by the river and or grinding corn or herbs. 🤷🏻♀️ My mother had always said that the old side of the cemetery has unmarked stones or Indian graves that were there before the church and that they continued to use the area for burial spot. The rocks are still visible in the old side of the cemetery. It is one of my favorite and most peaceful spots in the world. It’s very close to my heart as I grew up in the church and grew up in the town. My relatives and buried there. If you end up visiting there after seeing my comment please respect this place. It holds so much sentimental importance and value for so many people in the community. Thank you 🙏🏼 As a lifelong resident of Worcester County I would like to say Thank You So Much for this wonderful informational video of the Nipmuc tribe and some of their history. I realize that this video is pretty old now. I had to share thanks. ❤

Camera could be directed to the Veterans more often. Student involvement was perfect. Great great American guitar musician and rendition! (Hendrix would like this. ) Mark and Mr. Oliveira’s messages should be repeated in the classrooms and Mr. Burns will naturally incorporate the message when talking with his students for sure …. I believe that if PHS used daily music in each classroom (or even as they entered the building) the students would focus and settle down. Try it. They will like it. Overall, it was excellent, but a bit too quiet for some of those over active brains in the audience to appreciate the veterans. The students were respectful and that’s really important. I believe the teachers should have required their students to talk to a veteran before they left after the assembly. Curriculum can be incorporated every moment of the students’ day. 1:03:02 I am always there in spirit.
