I believe the 1880 train from Keystone to Hill City is the other coal fired train. We went on that one in 2019 also. So cool those old trains

It's a shame y'all didn't get to ride the coal train, it is something special. You probably have already left, but if not, you should at least stop into the Smokey Mountain Knife Works on your way out of the area. I'm not sure where your adventure has you heading back to Canada, but if you want to truly visit the country music capital of the world, the birthplace of country music, you should stop by Bristol TN/Va. A lot of great country legends came from the area near home. In fact, I'm sure that y'all have heard of the Carter Family, they did their first recordings in Bristol, TN.

Thanks Dave, for sharing these stops. We’re back home now had a great time. Wish we had time to see more. We did see the Johnny Cash museum in Nashville. Definitely more to see. Need to start planning. Cheers
@TennRides20 күн бұрын
East Tennessee is home, but for the last twenty years we've been living in middle TN, about an hour - hour and a half, depending on traffic and where you are going, from Cashville (what a lot of us call Nashville). I used to have to drive up there for work. I can count the times I have just went up to the city just to go there. I'm not a huge fan of Nashville, it has gotten way too big over the years. Be safe in Memphis, it is the most dangerous city in TN. I have no desire to visit there. Many, MANY years ago we were going to visit Graceland. When we saw how much they wanted just to visit some place where a famous dead dude once lived, we changed our minds and visited some other places with the kids. You know how it is when you live somewhere, you tend to stay away from the touristy places. I have been to the Pigeon Forge, Sevierville, and Gatlinburg area several times, but only because we have friends that lived there. There is a lot of fun stuff to do in that area, and it is much safer than Nashville, and MUCH more safe than Memphis. If you haven't gone past already, you should check out the Smokey Mountain Knife Works, it is almost like a free museum. Safe travels to you both.

Hi Dave thanks for your comments. We had no problems in any of these areas and we certainly took the touristy venues, each had their good points. Now that he have seen them we can move on to others. Cheers

We were in Pigeon Forge two years ago and loved it so we are headed back to Pigeon Forge and then on to Nashville in the Fall. We missed Dolly by one week, she was greeting folks at the entrance to the park. We enjoyed the dinner theatre shows while we were there along with the mountain roller coaters. Nice job on the video.

I finally got a chance to watch this video. I've had the tab pulled up, along with many other vids, and finally enjoyed it. I would love to take a group on The Head Of The Dragon. It takes a few, roughly 4-5, hours to ride it, but it is an amazing ride, beautiful. I have ridden that route a couple of times now. Every time I ride back that way, I get home sick. I'm hoping that a bunch of you fine Canadians come to VAMM24. We love having y'all.
