First time I heard of Elton John, I was a teenager and was watching either the Merv Griffin or Dick Cavit show. Elton was introduced, and he sang Your Song. I remember thinking his music was different and I could understand every word he sang. I will never forget that moment. My younger sister became a huge fan, and a friend of mine who also loved Elton invited her to the concert at Dodger Stadium. I can still remember how excited she was. Those were great times.

...and why? He is NOT an actor.

I just found this video and my heart has cried and rejoiced, and has laughed at this man's gift of music, his humbleness and his compassion. God Bless you!

GUYS, with all due respect to Elton as a musician, having him on this show is ridiculous!! He is not an actor!! Lipton should be ashamed at this ass kissing session that has NOTHING to do with acting!!😡

A quadruple threat. Virtuoso pianist, fantastic song writer, great singing voice and a charming and often hilarious raconteur.

My hero and don't know how I would live without his music in my life!
@brendakennedy818Ай бұрын
I've been listening to him since I was twelve. Your Song is my favorite, and believe me, with him, it's hard to pick only one as a favorite. My son had this played at his wedding reception for the mother/son dance. As a child he was sung Levon as a lullaby. His first concert we took him to was Elton John, when he was ten. He stood up in his seat and danced to Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting. Need I say more?

I've been to the 2001 Odyssey club ("spaceship") and it's fun --- got to rub a cute dancer's butt for like 30 minutes while me made idle chit-chat on the main floor LOL

Unfortunately it's not the original beach boys
@bobh28630Ай бұрын
Really... who is awake and alert of the original Beach Boys? Mike Love - but he arrives with his own odious baggage. Al Jardine - yes & no: thankfully still alive but unlikely he is on stage with Mike Love Brian Wilson - thankfully still alive but under the care of a conservatorship Dennis Wilson - passed away Carl Wilson - passed away * Bruce Johnston - thankfully still alive although not an original member * David Marks - thankfully still alive although not an original member and no longer an active musician Summary: The current Beach Boys are certainly not "boys" and other than Mike Love, no one on stage was there at the beginning. Mike Love is the epitome of a no-talent relative who got lucky.

I always refer to Elton as "my first musical love" because - on his birthday in 1975 - I was the correct caller to whatever rock station in DC, and was given my choice of his albums. I requested Greatest Hits, played it for a buddy (Innocent LIttle Davey Howie, lol) and we both became Elton addicts. Going forward, we bought different albums from his back catalog so we could share so both of us had access to all of his released material. Elton lifted me out of listening to adolescent marketed crapola like The Partridge Family. Oh, those magical days...
