Is 49 years old too old to start in this Industry ? Please be honest. Thank you
@jorge.rubiales2 жыл бұрын
Sorry to be blunt, but probably. It takes years to master, some investment, having social and working skills (long hours with a bad pay, that's how you would start), tolerance to frustration (gigs that don't come to fruition, occcasional shitty crews, producers whose only motivation is to save every penny possible no matter what...). The older we get, usually, the less happy we are with those situations, plus our body is not able to withstand everything we throw at it anymore. In the end, only you can answer the question "how much am I willing to sacrifice for the POSSIBILITY to work in the low ranks of this industry?". And do you have a B plan in case the plan goes south? My best wishes.

The fact that more than one person complain about the camera work means none of these people are familiar with watching raw interview footage. (There has been comments on multiple links relating to this series of interviews.) This is the B angle/camera work people. It's what you cut to from the A (Wide Shot ) camera. This is the full interview uncut. Look away... just listen... learn something... or not.

Thank you Dario.. I just gave up replying - I presume people who are watching this have some (fairly deep) knowledge of production and post production - therefore if they don't understand what they are looking at then they shouldn't be watching it anyway - I know its not the done thing to dismiss your viewers like that but this is basic stuff, and I shouldn't need to explain it..(even though I have several times and people still leave the same comment) Anyway thanks again, I hope you enjoyed it and hopefully I'll be putting some more up in the next few months.. Chris

Looks like it was an interesting interview - I had to stop watching after about 5 min because the camera work looks so amateurish - or desperately avant-garde - it was distracting.

This interview was shot as part of a short film currently being made based on colour and colour grading. The interview was intended to be used, cut up into small sound-bytes and covered with cutaways. However I thought it was interesting enough to show in full. Because it was't intended to be seen in full the camera work is not ideal for a full length interview. I hope you can see past that and enjoy!
@Zavyazkin8 жыл бұрын
I really liked the interview and appreciate the whole project. It's really hard to find informative and nicely produce videos about Colorists and Color Grading. I thought that the really tight close ups and shaky camera movements were a bit distracting. Sorry for my sarcasm, just a little observation from a viewer. Once again big thank you for this series.

Hey great interview, and wonderfully shot - thanks. I can't help but give some criticism though, the exact moments in which you cut to and from cutaways and cut ins (or maybe it's just the exact cut points in the audio) are a little off and can be weird to someone who's aware of these things, to anyone who isn't, then I think it comes across as less natural, less smooth, and a little bit jarring (all things to take away from the idea - understand to what this person has to say) But anyway, seriously great interviews I'm really enjoying them (only just found them!), and I'll slowly be making my way through the 8 soon enoguh!
@darkartoflight9 жыл бұрын
Ha.. That's embarrassing, I'm actually an editor mostly, that's what I do mainly for my work is editing, shooting and colour grading are still secondary at the moment.!! In my defence I edited these in about 5 minutes. I literally went through once and didn't go back to adjust the cuts - but yes I know and it's embarrassing!!
