Haha good point, I'm unlocking every 'available' room, so if I do the second quest then I need to also unlock the associated rooms, but if I haven't done the quest then I don't need to unlock those unavailable rooms. I don't think anybody wants to sit and watch me grind out the level 3 quest, much more interesting to get to the later episodes. @GoldRocketGamers9 күн бұрын
Are you sure? They did in the past and I didn't see any mention of them changing it in the patch notes. You have to use the potion for the episode the professions are in though (disregard the offhand comment I made in the video, that was wrong, sorry! - more details in the pinned comment)

I'm just getting all my professions to level 20 and then I'll move on to the next episode. I find it relaxing to do it like this and I don't feel like I'm grinding in any one area for too long. I do find the high level requirements of some of the quests annoying as I would have preferred to complete the quests in the episodes too but I can't because if I get them to 20, some of those professions are not high enough to complete the quest. But my plan is to experience each area to level 20 on everything and then come back to grind certain professions so that I can complete all the quests and also start crafting stuff for myself. I love the casual style of this game and I am in no rush to reach any certain level, however I do appreciate how clever people are in finding optimum ways for levelling quickly.
@GoldRocketGamers10 күн бұрын
Yeah I like that method too. I do that too on my 'main' but the account I reserve for streaming rushed to episode 4 as fast as possible just to show people the content so am now having to go back and catch up. I know what you mean about the quests, I was surprised by some of the level requirements, but I think they are aiming to make all episodes have long term content, it's not really designed for you to 'complete' an episode before moving on to the next. But bottom line is do what you enjoy!
@nathanielnizard216310 күн бұрын
Actually the leveling in bs is a clustefuck, imho if you are minmaxing level numbers merchant+lw is the way to go but it is just raw levels and money right now. If I had to redo my progression I'd go for something like rushing 300 or 400 merchant right of the bat. Then for crafting spec, if you are mason or bsmith yes you can overlevel mining and your crafting skill and craft epics up to lvl170 without touching the rest past l&f reqs, if you're guardian(as I am), it is actually imho better overally for your account leveing everything tier by tier. The way that requires least mental effort is to first train wc and carpenter until you get every log/poles of a tier then train crafting professions with gathering and mining for those wood tiers. As a payoff for leveling crafting skills now I do rogue dens and upgrade chapter 4 gear. It's very "iron man". Gradually I slowly unlock shortcuts in creno that I will use to burst train merchant later. Hard commiting on a gathering skill early on imho is a mistake because you get faster with pots, enchants and probable QoL later.
@GoldRocketGamers10 күн бұрын
I suppose it depends what your goal is, I recommended foraging and alchemy as the most versatile skills for general gameplay, but if you are looking to just get the highest total level possible then yeah they are definitely not the fastest skills to level. I could do a whole video on power levelling, although to be honest there are probably people more qualified than me - I haven't rushed for level 500 in anything.
@GoldRocketGamers10 күн бұрын
Hey all, here's some quick corrections/clarifications to the video: Tip 2: Ignore my offhand comment about using potions from other episodes, you should always use the potion that is for the same episode as the profession you are gaining experience in (you can still drink potions that are 'greyed out' because you are not currently in that episode) - Thanks to @beardedrake9983 for pointing this out! Tip 5: If you want to make your own high level epic items you WILL have to train all 3 professions to whatever level you want to make the items to. (However you are free to not do this and just get your epics from combat drops instead, personally I sitll prefer just to make items for new episodes to ~level 20 or so then get my upgrades from training combat ) - Thanks to @sand3r602 for highlighting this!
@sand3r60210 күн бұрын
The focus on only one profession in Act 3 depending on class is not quite right. Because the epic weapons created depend on the level of all three professions. So ideally all three should be close in level.
@GoldRocketGamers10 күн бұрын
Good point, but is it really worth grinding all three professions to a high level? You could just make rares to get started in a new episode, then grind the 1 combat skill to get epic items from drops. I suppose you are relying on rng in that case though! I'll put a pinned comment to clarify this, thanks for pointing it out!

I like the game and bought premium pass, but it does feel way too early for early access, and I'll probably wait to purchase it again if I'm still playing. It appeals to me an OSRS player who enjoys skilling, so I can really see the frustration players get when they see the steep requirements for quests the same way as they do in RS, I'm not surprised to see players say that they think that premium pass wasn't worth it. The devs do seem to care about player input. I'm hopeful for the content that comes later on.

GOod video otherwise, proobably should had led with that, but im not rewriting now 😄
@GoldRocketGamers16 күн бұрын
Hey JonMacDonald, are you sure it's 1 of each class or is it just 3 rares in general? I skipped the sidequest in order to get to episode 4 so I could show the premium content, backtracking to do it now. If you need one of each class for the epic then yeah you are 100% right. Although to be honest I would rather farm the epic drops from monsters personally. Thanks for the feedback and support - makes a big difference for a small creator like me.

Yeah I have similar feelings. There is a load of stuff in the game that completely boggled me because it's just 'not how games work' but when I've tried them out and gotten used to it I've generally found they're BETTER this way. These guys have got some real street cred when it comes to game design and are brave enough to tear up the rulebook and try new stuff - that's what I'm really excited about.
@survivormandan857617 күн бұрын
as it stands right now, this game needs Tremendous amounts of work and updates to even begin to feel like a "open world MMORPG". It's just an empty, generic, mobile world game that lacks any sort of soul or game identity. Everything about this is just sub-par compared to every other Open world MMORPG on the market right now, so don't waste your money on a "early access" game lmao
@GoldRocketGamers17 күн бұрын
I mean in a lot of ways I agree with your sentiment, I did recommend in the video that you do the F2P content first and by the time most people complete all the content in the free to play areas the game will likely be fully launched and more episodes will also be out. Bottom line is if you enjoy the game and the extra content is worth it to you, then go for it. Equally if you don't like the game that's fine too, we can't and shouldn't all like the same things. You want to level all three of the crafting professions in ep 3 because you want to complete the lost and found quest that lets you craft epic weapons. In order to make an epic weapon for your class you need one rare weapon of each class from all 3 skills. That's the incentive to level them all up.
@GoldRocketGamers17 күн бұрын
Yeah, I tried to acknowledge that in the vid but probably could have done a better job of it. You don't need mega levels in them though, just the bare minimum for the quest. Good question, I asked the same thing but am not brave enough to try it haha! I think worst case scenario you get the same name with a #XX appended to it. Then when you resub you can get the number taken off. The danger is if someone snaps up the name while you're unsubbed. Having said that, knowing Gower I wouldn't be surprised if they just let you keep the name forever once you've got it, or at least give you some kind of grace period
@GoldRocketGamers17 күн бұрын
What makes you think this seems like a Jagex game? To me it seems the opposite. I think you're talking about micro transactions, the reason Gower left Jagex is because of the MTX and the direction the game was going and deliberately set up this game to go against that mindset. Even the name 'Brighter Shores' was chosen to illustrate that there is a better way to make games, by putting the gamers first. I'd always warn people against making assumptions and actually read up on what the developers themselves have said about their ethos and vision for the game, or better off, try the game out yourself since a substantial portion of it is free.
