that first wave... I've been around that area and I'm still trying to figure it out. It has potential, just need to be there on the right day. I have a few times, but mostly its not good most of the time. The road follows the beach most of the way, so lots of people try to drive up and down it and score. But the waves are best known to those who put the time in to study them. Almost strictly all beach breaks, but there are set ups.

i think they mentioned wearing 5 mm wetsuits? The trick i found when i lived with freezing water, surfing Northern Scotland and Norway is to wear 7mm. You get hot enough that you end up ditching your boots. gloves and hood on a lot of days and surfing without those things is worth the slight extra thickness in wetsuit. 5mm just doesn't cut it.
