Lol Poochie saying "please, cut off my head. I don't deserve to live" is definitely a bit excessively dark, well, for a childrens show depicting violence and gore.

actually, i can undertsand Homers passion for the role of Poochie. He got this job for his potential talent as a Voice Actor. He voices a character in the favorite cartoon show of his kids. And Roger Myers remembers his name and said that he is the one he needs. And in his old job his boss doesn´t remember his name nor that homer is one of his employes.

To be fair it was really the writer's fault that Poochie was hated, they wrote a very poor script and story.

It's a minor detail but the abrupt "Hello there, Itchy" after spouting his catchphrase is such a funny mood whiplash that I'm sad no one else points out.

I’ve got a better idea for the show to keep Poochie around. How about for 3, 4 or 5 episodes per season, Poochie tries to do something way too hard to be cool but ends up failing, itchy and scratchy decide to team up and kill Poochie, therefore making him the fan favorite butt monkey.

It’s weird how Homer was afraid of the character dying even though Scratchy comes back from dying every episode. Like killing Poochy would’ve probably been something people would’ve enjoyed watching and might’ve saved the character.

Can say with the bit of voice acting I did for another channel that didn't work out, the episode is a great reminder that no matter what the character is that is being shown behind them is a person that wishes nothing but better for the character and show they're doing.

This scene's idea is a reason why I often spend time online bullying people who hated on 2016 Ghostbusters movie who sent death threats to the people who worked on it. Does it make a difference? I don't think so, but so often than not, it's a fun hobby to make stupid nerds feel flustered knowing that they probably did that even before it was released in cinemas.
