I have not experienced this but I have found a support thread here: github.com/Heroic-Games-Launcher/HeroicGamesLauncher/issues/4223 TissuePowder seems to have provided a fix: This is exclusively about legendary's url redirection issue. (The backend heroic uses for epic login). 1. Use the alternative login method. 2. Open legendary.gl/epiclogin on your browser. 3. Check the redirection url, it might be something like www.epicgames.com/id/api/redirect?redirectUrl=www.epicgames.com/id/api/redirect?clientId=xxx&responseType=code 4. You have to remove the redirectUrl= parameter. Remove it and paste the new link on browser. www.epicgames.com/id/api/redirect?clientId=xxx&responseType=code

That is strange. You can go into the game folder and delete the EAC folder then verify the game, when you go to play it again you will see one of the steps saying it is reinstalling the anti-cheat. On some systems that you may need to manually install the anti-cheat runtime by searching for it in your library.

I haven’t experienced any others yet, I am casual though. The name tags do not bother me that much as I play this both on desktop and my Steam Deck where they are too small to see anyway so I rely on uniforms. I have seen some people say they have experienced audio issues, when I checked protondb some have issues with frame drop. You can read about the issues people have here www.protondb.com/app/2437170 If you have a spare drive you could try dual booting to test it out. I still have a dual boot as some games have kernel level anti-cheat which do not run on Linux.

please help me! im running on linux mint and its got issues, silent cutscenes, controller doesnt work, echoed sounds/bugged sfx i tried both proton hotfix, experimental, and other versions includiong 9.0-3

When there are video or audio issues I switch over to a GE version of Proton as that sometimes fixes it, this can be installed using davidotek.github.io/protonup-qt/ After installing it restart Steam then you can choose the version you installed. Regarding the controller I recently purchased a PS5 controller and for some games Steam input has to be restarted. There maybe other ideas here www.protondb.com/app/45740

I use OBS but have a 2 computer set up using a capture card and mac mini… which is why I cannot do HDR content and cannot wait for Asahi to have TB and DisplayPort support. My first few videos were using OBS in Fedora using VA-API before I decided to use a second computer with the OBS plugin teleport where I figured I would buy a capture card haha. Why did Linux mint underperform with RT on? Completely new to Linux here, I thought mint was just unbuntu but different looking (to put It crudely). Actually why is RT performance worse in general when the RT off was higher in some cases? (Compared to windows 11)

It is down to the kernel differences which I should have included in the video. Linux Mint uses the long term release version of Ubuntu. Different distributions ship with different kernels, as I am on AMD the graphics drivers are included so the newer the kernel the newer the drivers which can mean better RT performance.

I had not played this on Windows before. I would say similar performance. I just tried it on my dual boot and I do get a larger range of frames (80-140) under Linux where I could do a stable 60 frames. Under Windows 11 it does drop below 60 for some reason.

I'm an old Linux user from about 20 years ago, haven't used it since on desktop, only interacted with linux as a server admin & back end web dev in that time, but I'm coming back to Linux and coming cold-decked to Linux gaming because Microsoft have decided my 6 year old computer can't run Win11 as it doesn't have the TPM module they're insisting on. I have some questions - like, what are these various packages you're installing? Do I need them all, or are some of them just nice-to-haves? I'm running an i7 with 32Gb RAM & an Nvidia GTX1080ti. My main gaming platforms are Steam & Epic. What are the must-haves here?

They are all nice to haves except I would say RPM fusion is a must for information on that follow this link rpmfusion.org/Configuration Steam is Steam haha CoreCtrl is my preferred fan control software but can also be used for overclocking which I have never done, there are other options but this is what I am used to. Lutris is a games launcher Heroic Games Launcher is also a games launcher ProtonUp-qt makes installing alternative versions of proton easy Goverlay is a GUI for MangoHud which is shows FPS and system information Strawberry is an audioplayer MPV is a video player WINE allows one to run windows software under Linux which Proton builds upon Bottles is like a software launcher for WINE

I had not tried this on Windows but I have read other people saying that they see no difference between the two. Personally if a game runs on Linux that is where I will play it.

At first I thought it could be due to my internet connection but from what I have read on other peoples posts the game is unstable in proton. It could be both or this may have changed but I did try to figure out what the issue was but refunded this game after reading a post from the developer regarding Linux. They used to have a Linux native build so I incorrectly had assumed they would support proton but yeah.

I purchased EA through Steam and downloaded it through Steam. If you would prefer one could install using the launcher from their website pathofexile2.com with Lutris or Heroic Games Launcher

I haven’t found there to be much difference in performance with flatpaks. Maybe try different versions of proton? I am still using GEProton8-26

For this game I use proton experimental. I have not played the new update but just jumped on and checked it still runs on my system with experimental. I hope this helps, also make sure you have the battleye runtime installed. Edit: I have checked and 9.0-3 which is the current stable proton also works.

Idk why, but ever since moving to Fedora 41 I can't get mangohud to work. Not in Lutris not in Steam. It works just fine on that spinning box when setting it up in GOverlay just nowhere else. I'm lost. I've been trying to find the solution for hours and there's nothing I could find. Do you have any idea perhaps?

It is strange that it worked before. The only issue I have come across was depending on if the game is using opengl or not. Steam launch option for games running opengl MANGOHUD_DLSYM=1 mangohud gamemoderun %command% For all other MANGOHUD=1 gamemoderun %command% While the options under github.com/flightlessmango/MangoHud Advise to use “mangohud” or if opengl “mangohud --dlsym” regarding the opengl launch option I have found that for some reason some native linux games from loading. I have had more success with these. I hope this helps, if not does global enable assist in anyway?
