As for you got spared earlier I think it's a repeating timer sub routine that every now and then during a fight checks your party's is generating a high enough agro. When a character dies they lose all their agro after being revived. So if all your characters die and revive just before the agro check happens the game assumes you're trying to flee the fight. I think the reason this sub routine is so that enemies don't chase you until the end of time but I don't think that was meant to be included in the battle sub routine so I think Monolith forgot that since the it was part of all the world enemies AI ,the timer function would run during battles. I had this issue in one of my old programming projects and the way I resolved was to put in "flag" variable check within the enemies AI that checks if the battle routine is still set to active > Don't allow "Reatreat_sub" to start. Disclaimer: 1. the program method I listed has no been structured to any language. It is in note form so that it can be understood by anyone who has been taught computer science properly. 2. This is not to discredit your battle you did great considering I can't even get Sharla to work with my party since she takes on way too much agro and the "cool off" mechanic just lead me to bench her for the rest of the main game
