Hopefully these sites will get to be studied by archaeologists before they destroyed by religious groups who don’t want to history of Afghanistan to be told ! I remember hearing a report also in Iraq that a lot of ancient sites were destroyed !

I'm pretty sure these are all nomadic herder camps, abandoned, but perhaps as little as 5 years ago. Anything not made of mud gets pulverized by the environment in very few years. Here's an example of a semid-nomadic camp in Sahelian Chad that's still in use: maps.app.goo.gl/VW7DU9G6rMoXFqvd7

These are old posts near the Ancient City of Sijilmasa in Morrocco. Around 8th-14th century. It's an old trade center. It's part of an old trade route like the silk road that connected the sub-Saharan Africa to the Mediterranean.

It really seems that North Western Africa was under water with mountains that were islands. South of here you get stuff like the "eye of Africa" Richat structure. From google earth NW. Africa looks like it washed into the Atlantic. The last few years these old cities have become an obsession of mine. Thank you for this find. This really added a lot to my desire to search this area more.

The last few rock faces that had buildings look like they touch dried up river shore. Maybe? It would be interesting to show the locations of the buildings, then show how it approximately compares in location to the old map(s).

Thanks! It is really hard to connect it with the older maps, the locations are never exactly were it should be. But I will keep it in mind when I will make another video with those older maps.

You will old ruins all along the historical silk route. I would expect those same people created settlements further away from the road, and that may be what you're seeing. There are other imagery providers, that can give you higher resolution images for a closer look. You should also look for signs of old roads and old riverbeds. Rivers change course all the time.

Mongolians are nomadic; I wonder if these are seasonal sites that they will return to in the summer/winter to erect their yurts. Also, some of these might serve as corals for horses, goats, and other animals.

Make more videos please. Also what’s located in Siberia under the melting snow and permafrost? Look closely “New evidence unearthed from ancient fortresses in Siberia is totally rewriting our understanding of how complex societies evolved. Radiocarbon dating of artifacts has revealed that Eastern Russia's Amnya I and Amnya II sites are around 8,000 years old-centuries older than similar structures in Europe.”

So how long do you reckon the wall might have been? That's pretty impressive. Looks like the people that built it captured a part of the land for themselves, going out to the sea towards east and with a protective wall towards west.

All of North Africa switches back and forth from lush grassland to desert every ~10,000 years due to a wobble in Earths axis. Libya will be prime agricultural land once again.
