@@vristalicaburaz4120 Yeah, just been a bit since I listened to Hella. I found a full recording of one of their shows at bottom of the hill that was also video taped so I was gonna eventually sync the two. Has been a while since I worked on it

@@bleach___Holy shit nice find. I've been geeking out over Hella for the last couple months so if you know other sources like soul seek for finding Hella videos and audios I'd appreciate it. I think I've found everything on KZbin and Vimeo so now I don't know where to look lol

Casiopea were touring basically nonstop in their Mk. 1 era and its nice that theres a quality concert recording out there for ultra nerds like us to listen to. Now if only someone ever filmed a full show from this time.

Hey it’s the #1 sasaki glazer in my comments Jokes aside the existence of 70s audience video recordings are already pretty sparse in the western taping scene alone, and I cannot think of any for any j-fusion outing (with exceptions to semi official recordings) in the 70s. Earliest I can think for Casiopea of is a 1982 audience recording. There could’ve been a TV appearance that would get some footage of this version of the band but there’s no documented TV appearances until February 1980. Oh well. In terms of touring, Casiopea went even further with how much they toured from the early to mid 80s. 1982, 1984, and 1985 are years that stand out to me.
@ootoot2152
@ootoot2152 22 күн бұрын
@@bleach___ lmao actually i completely forgot i made that comment. I guess my reputation precedes me among other 70s Casiopea ultra-nerds. Considering how all personal video recording cameras were pretty readily available in Japan at the time (basically all of them were domestically made), you'd think that someone somewhere had at least a short video shot of any of these groups. Maybe these bands didn't like blatant video recording from unofficial sources. It's not like VCR camcorders were subtle or small. The only videos that are known from this era are the taped summer songs from 1979, my theory being that they were released in lieu of singles from the debut, broadcast on monitors in record stores and the like, since their first single was I Love New York b/w Magic Ray off of Super Flight, and there are no contemporary videos accompanying any of those albums tracks that I know of.
@bleach___
@bleach___ 17 күн бұрын
@@ootoot2152 In the 70s, I don’t think Casiopea minded bootlegs. It’s more a matter of the venues. Casiopea, up until the super flight tour, played almost exclusively at local venues known to host fusion and rock outings. Roppongi Pit Inn, Shibuya Attic, Shimokitazawa Loft, etc. Most of these probably were against taping, I know it was confirmed Pit Inn would kick out a taper if they were spotted. Nearly all Casiopea video recordings from the audience were at outside venues like Phoenix Jazz Inn.
@ootoot2152
@ootoot2152 17 күн бұрын
@@bleach___ Makes sense if venues didn't like unofficial taping at concerts. If people could record everything, there's no need to come back. Regardless, it's a shame that this era has only these varying quality audio recordings to document them live. I guess that rarity of these kinds of things just makes them more interesting to me. It'd also be nice if the officially recorded songs to promote their debut were cut from a larger concert recording.

Crazy that this is the only high quality footage of the concert available right now. Also very odd that some of the songs are just missing from video release as you mentioned
@bleach___
@bleach___ Ай бұрын
It’s probably perfectionism on Noro’s end. Probably thought the other performances weren’t worth the release. Could also just be that the footage they had left in the archives was limited and all they had was the initial broadcast of the concert.
