That actually didn't sound terrible. Try 2 or 3 flute endmills for better chipevacuation, and some wd40, or A-9 cutting fluid for aluminum. There will be flexin the collumn, table, and spindle so dont count on vrazy tight accuracy. But if it works it works.

Did you drop the fuel tank to get to the inside bolts? My tank is in the way of access
@3rdpig2 күн бұрын
No, I didn't need to drop the tank. Mine has the stock 15 gallon tank. If yours has the optional 20 gallon tank that might be the cause of your problems. If I remember right it was quite a bit wider and even got in the way of the leaf spring shackle bolts.

Harbor Freight doesn't sell sidewalls, but when I did a search for "10x20 sidewalls" I found several companies that do. HF sells a 7 ft. 4 in. x 9 ft. 6 in blue tarp for $5, which is probably what I'll do for summer since I know that it won't last long where I live.

i'm confused......is the positive attached to the table?
@3rdpig6 күн бұрын
Yes, almost all flux core wire welding will be done with the ground clamp connected to the positive terminal on the welder. If you have a machine that can also do gas shielded solid core wire welding, it will be the opposite, ground clamp will be to the negative terminal. Stick welding will depend on the rod you're using, the material you're welding and weld position.

When govetnment reclassifies lead to become a hazardous material the cost of handling and transporting lead instantly increases. As American companies elect to avoid liabilities imposed by having a HazMat classification they shift manufacturing offshoe to take advantage of foreign labor sources not encumbered by a host of regulatory restrictions. As for the shorter life cycle, product quality has decreased through the change to lrss qualified labor and desire to maximize profit through lower cost material selection.

I remember getting car batteries for $39.95 for YEARS. You can get a "reconditioned" battery from the Battery Xchange for half this price of a new one. I've done it before and they do have a short warranty. You're welcome! ;-)

Is this the newer unit or older? I notice some 205DS Pro units have a flip up door over the screen.
@3rdpig8 күн бұрын
I believe the one in this video is the newer model. On Yeswelder's website the only current models with the flip up cover are the YWM models. The only 205DS model with the flip up door that I can find are the blue ones on Amazon and the first official video of them is from 3 years ago. They're also not marked "Pro" and they're $100 less than the one in my video. And that style of front panel looks dated compared to the large digital display on the black one.

This is actually a worse design because it's burning air from inside the room you're using it in. This creates negative pressure in the room which will result in draft from cold air outside as it seeps past any poorly sealed areas.
@3rdpig9 күн бұрын
I doubt they intend for the entire unit to be inside the room it's heating, but rather outside with the air output piped into the room you want heated. But if for some reason you want the entire unit inside, then the other version might be a better choice.
@rodneybritt97789 күн бұрын
Does the heated air smell
@3rdpig9 күн бұрын
As long as you properly route the exhaust the heater won't add any odor that's not already in the air it's heating.

man i am jelous of how nice that precision return line fits. doing this to my 1979 and it uses the flare fitting on the box end for the return line and the ones they make are all way too tall coming out of the box so you have to mangle it and bend it yourself to get it to fit
@3rdpig11 күн бұрын
I was pleasantly surprised myself at the fit. Specially when the new pressure line appeared so much different than the original. But considering how awful the rest of the job went, it was nice to have something go right!

FREIGHT ! cost of freight has almost doubled since covid. so freight of lead to lead supplier (cause good quality lead is mandated by government so its shipped in from over seas, thank obama for that one). Now add freight from lead supplier to battery manufacture, now add freight from battery manufacture to distributor and finally add freight from distributor to store front. and Lead is heavy! its all in the freight.

We'll see, because the one in the video is going into a 67 Mustang and I have another in an 80 CJ-7. But I'll bet money that they'll die on the first sub 32 degree winter night after 3 years. That's just how things work in the desert. And funny you mentioned Sears Auto Center, I worked there as a kid. Started on the gas island and moved to tires then to mechanic.

Meh, I think their low profile 3Ton is more useful. And a little nicer. I picked up their Dayton when they had their 40% off the candy red. It’s been a couple months and still in the box. 😅
@3rdpig14 күн бұрын
I agree, the low profile is more useful but it's $100 more than this is, or was yesterday. Not on sale it's only $40 more. I've got the small aluminum racing jack for low stuff and the off road jack to lifting high, but this one just scratches that itch for something in the middle.
@chaselesser319114 күн бұрын
@@3rdpig I think it was $89 on Black Friday, so $10 more, it’s like yours, the slate grey Pittsburg, but the low profile version. Yeah. I want the aluminum 1.5 ton for small like suspension work to push it up or hold it in place.

Tip to get the most life from your battery: I have an automatic floating battery tender that I hook up every time I come home. I permanently attached it to the battery terminals and the plug-in hangs out the front of my grill. Keeps it topped off continuously. My full sized Chevy Truck that sits a lot also gets plugged up. I got six years and 3 months from my old battery--Sometimes I forgot to plug it in, so these new batteries I plug them in every time. Gonna be interesting to see how long they last.

The purpose of completing drive cycles for eng. emissions is to be in compliance with US gov. Regulations. (Capital R) Ford's version is P1000. Will not pass gov emissions specification. Prove out sequence tests all sensors and actuors so that the engine only produces so much unacceptable exhaust gasses.

Batteries are a krap shoot. I don't know about the prices, but a couple of months ago, I bought a new AGM battery for my cargo van. It is a 5 year battery and cost $250. I have an AGM battery on my travel trailer and when not in use, it's on a 1.5 amp charger. That battery is 7 years old now. I also have a flooded battery on my 4Runner. I bought this car used two years ago and there's no date on the battery but it is on a same 1.5 amp charger when not driven. When that battery goes out, it'll be replaced by an AGM unit also.

Ive lived in Mesa for 41 years. Back in 2001 I was coming back from Mexico with my Dodge 3500, stopped got gas, and the battery died. The battery was 4 years old. The gas station owner said he had some batteries that have been refurbished that last a long time. It was an optima red battery and he dated it when he installed it for me. That battery lasted until 2016 I have never ever had a battery last even remotely that long in Arizona
