Very cool. Efficient use of pod weight and critical space. The downsides of this system seem a bit harsh, though (the huge nerf to sensors which is nowhere to be found in the actual rules for the technology for one)... From what I've seen, this seems more compatible with gauss weapons. Interesting decision to go with lasers and autocannons.

That's because the mech in the video is from a mod. I forgot what the mod's name is called, but the mod basically features mechs which are 1 step above Assault. Base/Vanilla game Assault mechs mostly cap at around the 100 ton mark. You can see in the video that the mech is 125 tons.

On this Day we remember how awesome Mechassault & Mechassault 2: Lone Wolf were seeing this (Archer) MadDog/Vulture gameplay footage makes me feel like a kid again. I hope Microsoft has the decency to reboot the Mechassault franchise some day! 😎

base MELANDER is supposed to be a relatively cheap frame, so you could think of it as a monkey model of the older crest-looking stuff

It's the Battlehawkmaster with the double Long Toms! Personally I prefer the Thumper Artillery because of the better ammo efficiency and weight/size. But again, I put it on a Marauder...
