This sequence isn't all that difficult. But man, is it nerve-wracking from your second attempt onwards. Absolutely stunning though.

Thank you, I got here tonight and made it almost to the end of this but I had wasted all but one of my lives on the space ship segment at the start thinking I was just supposed to survive, not hover over the gem. I know I would've made it to the end had I at least one more life and don't have time to redo the whole game so I'm watching it here lol

I got killed during the true ending, it took me 20 hours to get there. I played it not knowing my continues would become my lives, I don’t believe there was a clear indicator until a later update, but I kept playing in that session, and got back the point where you could try it an hour later. A few more runs of the first loop got me my continues back, and I cleared the TLB second try. If you haven’t played this yourself, I’d highly recommend it. I’m not good at shmups, but ZR kind of trained me. The TLB in white vanilla also has a lot of similar attack patterns if you want to practice it. May you attain enlightenment!

@@matiasnlOh, man! Thanks for the advice, I got twice to TLB with only 2 or 3 lives (continues). Guess I'll just have to beat Despair on the first try. Eventually.

"don't have time to redo the whole game" But it takes like an hour (possibly less) to get back to Despair, if you learned anything at all

Wow. The difficulty spike between Novice and Normal is even worse than I'd realized.

It is a bit spicy! But at the same time, I think it's surprisingly accessible, especially for a Cave game. For the most part, I find that you can dodge the patterns the exact same way as in Novice, you just need to be a little quicker or more precise. Novice does a great job preparing you for the real thing, I think!

Nice run! Even without Hibachi, I think a Novice 2-ALL is much more entertaining than all those Normal-mode 1-ALL videos where the player barely limps through the stage 5 boss after using every single stock and bomb the game has.

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! I'm definitely in a "barely limp through stage 5" skill bracket myself at the moment, and I doubt I'll ever get a non-novice 2-ALL in anything, but there's definitely a different and very fun set of muscles that you flex on a marathon like this!

Solid stuff! Did you have an older account with a different name or something or what was the situation surrounding the re-upload? Either way, stoked to see a bunch of vids here for me to dig right into! I definitely want to get at Maniac since I've never buckled down with that mode yet and almost all of my experience with Mushihimesama has been in ver1.5 so I still have my Original clear to snag as well! I play in Ultra because it's insane and fantastic practice but yeah, I have some cleaning up to do in the other modes like Arrange for instance. Such a fun one. Thanks for the vid!

Hey, thanks for the comment! Yeah, basically I've been uploading these onto my main personal account where I have a bunch of other stuff, and didn't feel super comfortable making them public there (I mostly have unlisted content on my main account). So I ended up making this dedicated subchannel, which unfortunately means I had to deal with KZbin's 720p downloads for all the stuff I didn't still have lying around... But yeah, maniac is one hell of a good time, I have to say! If you do come back and decide to have a go at it, I definitely think 1.0 maniac is a better mode. I did try to go for a 1.5 maniac clear after this, but the design of the added waves and enemies just did not really feel that good to me, personally (especially all the black beetle things they added to stage 3). I do want to give Ultra a proper go one day, but I think I have a lot of improvement to do before I can seriously think about that!
