I still have beets in my garden, so I think I'll pickle some beets and add them to my pickeled eggs, but please process your beets according to the ball book of canning before using them in the egg recipe because root vegetables can cause bachelism if they're not canned properly. This looks delicious! Thanks for sharing your recipe. Adorable little boy and such a good helper. 😊

You're a generous Grandma!! My Paternal Italian Grandmother (Swift is an assumed name) would never let me (or anyone) in the kitchen with her! It was sacred! The exception: My non-Italian mother (her daughter-in-law) learned from her by watching. My mother became a superior cook by watching her mother-in-law, but she never let her cook in her kitchen. My grandmother's marinara sauce was sublime, but my mother or I could never reproduce it!!! I had to learn to cook by trial and error! Neither my mother or grandmother really taught me to cook!!!
