Too many purchases start like this. You see a savant playing an instrument 'effortlessly' and you think i could do that. 10 years and £3000 later, and there's that instrument no one talks about gathering dust in the corner.

I'm not saying it's not cool, and it's very impressive. But it just doesn't look or sound like anything I have interest in. I've played 24+ years, a wall of 6 string electrics and I don't expect I'll be bored with them in this lifetime. I play mainly classic rock, classic metal, and some experimental stuff. I'm not against modern stuff or against evolution of the instrument...I just don't think this is a path that leads anywhere. A 7 string is something I am actually about to get. But 8 strings are silly unless it's an extra high A string. Anymore than 8 is just silly imo. To each his own tho, do what you want, if it sounds right then it is right

I think it's a reflection of how music is being made. As time goes on more and more "bands" are just one man projects. It just sounds like he's playing a bass and a guitar at the same time. I personally love really low tuned music like double drop c# and all that non sense. But it's gimmicky and can be boring. 7 strings in my opinion are perfect though.

Anytime I see a guitarist walk in with something like that, I know they mean business. That's a guitar + bass + double bass all rolled in one. He has to have a wood shop at the back of his house. I don't even know who makes something like that. **UPDATE**: After about 10 replays, I then noticed the big a55 sign in the back.

The rickenbacker 4002 is impressive. If you saw its price tag you’d be even more impressed 😂 also, they’re just dialing in a tone with that bass head amp the other guy is messing with. So he is just strumming random chords to mainly hear the amps tonality.
