Day of the Dead isn’t celebrating death or those who’ve died, but those who lived. They’re we’re stories and lives behind everyone we remember and death is only the natural result of their cycle, but they won’t actually die until they’re forgotten That’s the heart of Día de los Muertos 🌺 💀 🌺

I couldn’t came across this video in most perfect timing… I had to stop the video because the song that came out Selia Cruz (rest in peace by the way) was the exact song that I remember when I had to go through my first funeral if my beloved grandmother.. words can’t express how much I appreciate this for the lyrics in the song talk about not to cry 😢 for life is carnival, not to give in to negative thoughts. She said to me you are and will always be the apple of my eye. I expected to watch this just in knowing how to honor my own memory of her for she was my biggest fan as well. Thank you 🙏🏻 🥰 Abuelita I see you ! Gracias for your birthday wishes I love you so very much and I hope anyone watching this knows that our love ones are always around , that we are never alone.. family , angels weather pets or friends they are with you , cheering you on 😊

Purgatory is grossly unbiblical. The Roman Catholic church made it up in the dark ages to pilfer money from illiterate peasants who couldn't read the Bible for themselves. The Bible only talks about Heaven and Hell. Either your sins are fully paid for by the Lord Jesus Christ because you've received him by faith as your Saviour, or you've rejected him and are going to Hell. There is no in-between. Either you are saved or you're lost. The Bible said that the Lord Jesus Christ paid for the sins of the whole world. It's up to you to receive him or not. The Bible calls salvation a free gift because Jesus paid it all. There is nothing we can add to what Jesus Christ has already done. "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." - Romans 6:23 "And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross" - Colossians 2:13-14 The Bible is clear that whoever believes in the Lord Jesus Christ (i.e. trusts in his shed blood on the cross to pay for all their sins and declare them righteous before God - 2 Corinthians 5:21, Ephesians 1:7) is saved/going to Heaven. The only other option is Hell for unbelievers. "He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him." - John 3:36 The made up idea of purgatory is an insult to God because it suggests that Jesus Christ did not suffer enough for your sins. It suggests that Jesus Christ did not fully purify you when he died for you on the cross. The Bible says that Jesus fully saves whoever believes on him by faith. “Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” - Isaiah 53:4-5 “Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.” - Hebrews 7:25 The Bible says that we only die once, then after death we are judged. Heaven or Hell. There is no other option. There is no second chance. Trust solely in Jesus’ shed blood today for salvation. “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” - Hebrews 9:27 “Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God” - Romans 3:24-25

His first statement is just inaccurate. To say Oaxaca is more "Aztec" than the last place where the height of the "Aztec" Empire had its reign= Mexico City. Mexico is NOT monolithic and Oaxaca us full of tribes that are not Aztec. Besides it's Nauha or Mexica NOT Aztec.

We owe our lives, our journey through this life to our ancestors. They speak to us of our traditions, of our past and of our family. My niece's daughter joined the ancestor's at two years old on Christmas Day. Our memories hold their spirits and their spirits walk with us, who we are, what we see, how we grow.
@katrin8963 жыл бұрын
Just my honest opinion. If you are going to another country to document a tradition or a culture, don't do it from your perspective, do it from theirs. Nobody cares that you didn't grow up with this and that you don't believe in it, that doesn't make this tradition any less significant, and you just leave your audience annoyed that you refused to put your own prejudice aside. Just embrace it, learn about it, take part in it. I'm not from Mexico and I've never participated in this tradition but boy would I like to! I would go all in, I would want to dress up, cook the food and learn as much as I could about this.

At some points the narrator seemed very incentive and ignorant, but I must admit I really enjoyed when he finally opened up a little to talk about his dead relatives. I understand he's not used to it, and I'm sure it's just his knee jerk reaction to brush this type of "magic stuff" off, but in the end he did connect when he was willing and I hope he knows his relatives definitely received the message he sent and I'm happy he had a moment to let himself feel. I wish everyone the best.

The Holy Bible declares that God has visited mankind in the flesh. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God... And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” - John 1:1,14 Jesus declared himself to be God. “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.” - Revelation 1:8 Jesus’ disciples declared him to be God. “And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.” - John 20:28 Jesus’ disciples worshipped him as God. “And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy” - Luke 24:52 The Lord Jesus Christ is God in human flesh. The Holy Bible says that we are all sinners and fall short of attaining Heaven. But God loves us and came to die for our sins on the cross. Three days later he rose from the dead and ever lives to make intercession for us. You must receive Jesus Christ and him alone as your personal Saviour. When you trust Jesus Christ as your Saviour, God imparts his own righteousness to your account and guarantees that you will go to Heaven. If you reject Jesus Christ as your Saviour, you will die in your sins and go to Hell. There is no amount of good works you can do to get yourself into Heaven; even the most righteous people fall short of God’s holiness. You must believe on Jesus Christ today and be saved/born again into God’s family! "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" - Romans 3:23 "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him." - Romans 5:8-9 "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." - Romans 10:9 "[Jesus Christ] In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace" - Ephesians 1:7 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." - Ephesians 2:8-9

The Anglo Saxons were pagan revolutionaries that attempted to win over the Western European world from the Christian Normans, failing to do so, and possibly leading a Celtic genocide in the process ( the more commonly accepted theory is that thay simply ruled over the Celts and added Germanic blood to their gene pool, a more subtle explanation of why modern Brittish DNA differs from acient Celtic DNA). What I am trying to say by this is that "Anglo Saxon" needs to become a more widely spread insult used to describe rude Brits, and that you got a laugh out of this history buff.

I am Mexican and first the word AZTECA is incorrect. The proper word is MEXICA. La catrina was an elegant or well-dressed woman, so it refers to rich people. So many year ago a sharp dresses man was called CATRÍN and woman CATRINA. La Calavera (skeleton) Catrina was created by José Guadalupe Posada around 1910-1913. She was created as a satirical image. The artist aimed to mock the indigenous Mexicans who imitated European style....I hope I can help you with this!

I don't see him being disrespectful at all, he's asking questions in order to try to understand and to get as much information for the documentary in order to educate the viewers. I don't see the disrespect, he's there to document period. As an atheist in a family that does celebrate Day of the Dead, I am skeptical of spirits of my family members coming back to visit, but to me the Day of the Dead is a good time to remember my family that have gone and celebrate them as they were in life.

the information was great but the narrator to this video seemed on edge with it and didn't see that it was more based on love and the feeling of the loved ones with them, but he more or less was focused on being able to see them there. I feel as though he is the type to think that "seeing is believing"
