Wow that was an awesome no frills tutorial. I’m cooking wild caught sockeye salmon with the skin on . The filets have not had the scales removed. What is your advice as far as descaling goes. Thank You this was exactly what an amateur like me was looking for

Hi Tim, so glad you enjoyed the video! I would definitely remove the scales. I think you’ll have a much better “eating experience.” Please let me know how your sockeye turned out!

The shelf life of clarified butter is at least 6 months at room temperature and a year in the fridge.

It's sad that you're using premade sauce in a video that's about cooking, because not only is it more expensive, but it would take pretty much the same amount of time if you made your own. Cooking a good marinara sauce completely homemade is not difficult, find good canned sweet tomatoes.

I’m sorry found using premade sauce off putting. This video was meant to a quick meal when you don’t want to spend a lot of time in the kitchen. I have a video showing sauce made from scratch in my homemade meatball recipe kzbin.info/www/bejne/p3THZIxqp7yambMsi=CK8c1MWeBWZeEqnO .

I think the internet consensus is to save the butter for the end. It seems to suck out the flavor from the shrimp instead of making it better.

If you remove ALL of the water (boiling it long enough) and all of the milk solids, it will store for MUCH longer at room temp than 30 days. 6 months for properly processed butter, and up to a year in the fridge. A trick to getting ALL of the milk solids without caramelizing it to the bottom of the pan is to add a tablespoon or two of flour prior to pouring it through the cheesecloth. This way you don't have to sacrifice any of the butter fat at the bottom of the pan and the milk solids will not pass through the cheesecloth. Otherwise, small amounts will pass through the cheesecloth, even when it is triple-layered.
@chevypreps6417

So you add the flour towards the end of the boiling process. The flour picks up the moisture then gets trapped in the cheese cloth.?????? Is that the idea.

Chris, hi, I'm just getting ready to cook the chicken and I noticed you said it was an 8-in pan but I think you meant 10 or 12-in pan, right? You make it look so easy I forgot to relook at the video and I have six toothpicks in the bottom of each one. I hope this works out! Looks like it will. Awesome.

I agree with most of what you said J, however at the same time, 2 fighters, undefeated, same weight class, saying they'll fight ANYBODY need to prove every one of those claims by signing these contracts. Apparently, staying undefeated is more important than taking real challenges in the sport. I have to give it up to Frank Martin for taking that Tank fight. A lot of people said he wast ready, but his resume looks better, he's gained experience and who knows, based on the 1st 3 or 4 rounds he might be able to get a fight 2 and the money should be good. So as far as the Boots vs Norman fight, I say do it. But don't let the reason you don't do it, be because your not sure you can win. That's what training is for, study your opponent and train like you want to win
