Hi, so I’m trying to cut out small names in flexfrost no wider than 5cm but the machine keeps pulling the material so I end up with half a cut 😭, do you have any tips for stopping this? Thanks
@teamphotofrost1398 Жыл бұрын
Try adjusting your blade depth and blade pressure(force). I usually have my blade depth set to level 2 and use a force of 10. Hope this helps.👍

How long do they last good ,what's a good way to keep them fresh .
@photofrost0120156 жыл бұрын
Hi CJAE4, our icing sheets should be properly stored and tightly sealed in a heavy zip-loc bag to avoid them from drying out. Keep out of direct light and remember not to refrigerate the icing sheets. Our PhotoFrost icing sheets have a one year shelf life and are best stored in the packaging included. Hope this helps, - Team PhotoFrost

I just purchased a cameo 3 and want to cut out some horse silhouettes for a cake. I have the black Wilton icing sheets, how would I cut them out? I wouldn't have to print them onto white sheets then cut them just to get the cut line would I?
@photofrost0120156 жыл бұрын
Hi Lea Wofford, you can just simply cut any design you want with a black icing sheet. There's no need to print and then cut . you can create your cut line in Silhouette studio and just send your project to your cutter. Just make sure you have the registrations turned off and have the right size paper or material selected in your silhouette studio software. I hope this helps you on your way with creating with edible icing sheets. Make sure to keep an eye out for our upcoming videos that explain more tips and tricks on the silhouette cutters and our edible icing sheets! Have a great day, - Team PhotoFrost

just wanted to share a tip on the registration marks/ ... and I hope this makes sense. When doing a print and cut/ your image can not touch or go over the "print boarder (red line)" as well as image should not touch or be inside the "gray has marks". I had no clue how to manually do the registration marks... thanks for that tip!

@photofrost0120156 жыл бұрын
Hi Adalberto Dominguez, we would recommend having a separate blade for any of your edible cuts. We have a separate video showing some ways to use our edible icing sheets for cookies. Here's the link to the video kzbin.info/www/bejne/f2e8eHuerJKYnK8 Thanks for the great questions ! - Team PhotoFrost

can this product be used on buttercream icing and can this be refrigerated and frozen once attached to a cake or cookie?
@photofrost0120157 жыл бұрын
Hi Terrie Kjelshus, yes our icing sheets can be used on Buttercream icing. you can refrigerate and freeze as well with our icing sheets. However when you are ready to thaw our your cake or cookie, make sure to take off any covering (like a cake box with a lid) so that any condensation doesn't drip on the edible printed design you may have. Hope this answers you question. - Team PhotoFrost

Do I have to buy the scraper thing for this to work?
@photofrost0120157 жыл бұрын
Hi Coreen Mora, the Scraper or blade is just a simple plastic tool that we like to use for pressing the FlexFrost into the mat. It's not really the one and only that you have to use. They are available at most local Cake Decorating and Sugar Art Supply Stores. However if you can't find one, we'll give you one when you order any size pack of FlexFrost. Give us a call at 352-528-9292 or email us at [email protected] Thank you, Team PhotoFrost :-)

How long do they have to dry for? What is the cost?
@photofrost0120157 жыл бұрын
Air dry is really the best. To speed up the drying process you can put the molds under a fan at medium speed. here is a link to our website for pricing.....photofrost.com/shop/es/flexfrost-fabric-icing-sheets/205-photofrost-flexfrost-fabric-icing-sheets-12pkg.html Team PhotoFrost. :-)

I'm wondering how LONG the air drying takes usually! I want to compare it to other products drying times. I've looked on everything you've posted and nothing gives a time estimate.
@photofrost0120157 жыл бұрын
The dry time of any product containing hydrocolloids is going to be dependent upon the dew point of a particular area, but to give you some kind of idea, it normally takes approximately 2 hours with a dew point closer to 50 degrees. Team PhotoFrost. :-)

Is there a certain measurement of water you should use???
@photofrost0120157 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question. The best method is the second one shown in the video. If you have a full FlexFrost sheet just dip your strips in water and set them on your cake lace mat. However, if you are working with scrap pieces of FlexFrost saved from other projects, simply mix with small amounts of water in a cup to a thick paste rather than thin and runny. I hope this helps until we update our video of using FlexFrost edible fabric sheet with cake lace mats. Team PhotoFrost

Thanks for your reply! How long do you recommend drying? I heard you can put the molds in the oven at very low heat. If that is the case what is the temperature and for how long.
