Hi @DJLeoLarge. You might find that this tutorial answers your question; I am assuming you wish to create a chord progression track for AI session players? kzbin.info/www/bejne/iqKYoaWBocdghKM There is no way to transfer chord progressions from a MIDI track without keying it in manually in the global region. Not currently anyway. Thanks for dropping by and I hope this help!

"correcting" the pitch really sucks the life out of the performance doesn't it. I would keep the real bass part. The midi version sounds awkward and mechanical but i think it's a really useful technique for capturing the notes to maybe assign to another instrument or to build a chord using the note information. Will this work if the audio is a human voice?
@ShuehliOng
@ShuehliOng 21 күн бұрын
Hi @createlovehappy It is true that performance nuances are not translated to MIDI this way. That feat would take a few LP updates to make happen ;P But you are absolutely correct in suggesting that this technique could be useful for other reasons including the ones you described. An example I could offer might be that perhaps someone wishes to learn the baseline but can only read notes; unable to pick out the melody from just listening? In answer to your question, an audio to MIDI conversion method should work on the voice (a monophonic melodic line). If the recording is not pitched "comfortably", you will have much cleaning up of the pitch material before the audio to MIDI step. :) Thanks for dropping by and sharing your thoughts!

Hi there and thanks for your kind words! It is true that Logic was designed as a DAW first, with the notation feature as an extra! I've had to use the notation feature in my work and have discovered that others use the Score Editor for professional results! That surprised me as well. :) It took me awhile to figure out how to get around the Score Editor as its User Interface is unlike traditional notation apps such as Sibelius and Musescore. This makes sense because it should work in combination with its recording side! Thanks for dropping by @cone-stone

Dear Oceana, Is there a way to automatically write the chords into the score editor, to be able to export the scores with chords as a text or PDF file to share it with a friend? I am working on a very long piece of music (about 200 bars). I do not want to write down all these chords one by one per hand. Thank you in advance.

Hi there! If by automatic, you mean that LP generates the chord names for you from your MIDI information? Then, the answer is "no". You will need to enter then one chord name at a time in SCORE EDITOR, as per demonstrated in my video. There is a way to export your Score as a pdf. I shall make a video of it in a week or so!

I have a problem I can't figure out. I'm trying to make the sampler use only ONE of the zones from the different zones assigned to the same key on a Latin Percussion kit. I've tried everything I could to make it play only one of the zones but it keeps cycling through the different zones automatically and I can't figure out how to stop/modify this. It's the Stomps in the kit and I only like Stomp Copy 7 but every time I hit the key, it cycles to the different zones of the audio file. How can I modify this to only play Stomp Copy 7 zone? EDIT: Knowing this information will also help me know how to setup up the automatic cycling in case I also want to create a sampler instrument where one key triggers several different zones of an audio file.
@ShuehliOng
@ShuehliOng 5 ай бұрын
Hi there, I believe I got what you're requiring ... a Sampler is all about putting your library of sounds together in a way that allows you to best access a sample(s) in performance, after proper planning. You may have one sample per zone (map it to say G3 and velocity 0-127), or various samples on that same G3, and having different velocities trigger whichever sample you have programmed to respond to that velocity range. This is easier said than done in unpredictable life performance! So I suggest you duplicate "Stomp 7" and keep Copy7 only on that one key (discard all the other samples), as that seems to be your performance requirement. You have the original "Stomp 7" key then to use which will "cycle" through the other sample-zones. Adjust the velocities and delete sample zones as you see fit. The new Sampler interface still requires that you go into the MAPPING main window to do all this. I hope this helps. Thanks for dropping by and good luck!
@servHis221

@@ShuehliOng Off to try. Thank you so much for the advice. EDIT: For clarification, it's not my own kit that I'm trying to set up. It's a kit that already exists in Logic Pro X that I'm trying to modify. Do you have a video that shows how to duplicate as you have suggested I do? I'd like to follow it step by step...so that I also delete as I should. I tried deleting before and it didn't even respond...I highligted the other zones, etc. but I couldn't delete them.
@servHis221

@@ShuehliOng UPDATE: So I tried the duplicate and discard process. It played it on and off but after realising that I needed to adjust the velocity to the full range (0-127) it now triggers it every time. THANK YOU for your assistance. I truly truly appreciate it.

LP11's AI driven session players go hand-in-hand with their new chord creation feature (global view), allowing the algorithm to build chords on your behalf. But so far there isn't a handy tool for the reverse, and then to have this reflected in the Score editor. :) This could change in the future. Thanks for dropping by!
