I want to know if this type of breaking will stop a saw from continuing spinning from the inertia. it big saw 25" diameter. 7hp motor, thank you in advances.

The Fluke "123" does not have a low-pass filter but it does have a "Vpwm" measurement option exactly for this purpose (to measure PWM-generated voltage). The newer "123B", with color display, has a 10 KHz low-pass filter that can be enabled from the menu.

How do you connect the scope probe to the motor? Reference lead to the ground or to the phase?

Phase to phase. Fluke Scope meter 123 can handle 460 vac

Does this mean the laptop does not need an ethernet card ? That external device works ?

To turn on the Dynamic brake feature, set parameters: A437= 1 for Dynamic brake resistor, normal. A434= .5 seconds DC brake time. ( Time that the DC voltage is applied to the AC motor, not much is needed. PO42 = Deceleration set to approx .1 sec for fast stopping. That's all it takes 😀, let me know if any other questions ! Thanks for the video. I am trying to configure powerflex 755 but the problem I am facing is when the motor runs up to the full speed (set on the HMI) the external brake resistor starts making noice. I have never seen this issue with any other drive.

I see you are trying to configure the 755. What parameters did you change ?

WHAT TERMINALS ARE YOU CONNECTING THE BRAKE RESISTOR TO ?? Sounds like a wiring issue... The brake resistor is supposed to be active in the circuit only when you stop the VFD, not when running.

If i have RSLogix 5000 can i communicate with a PLC that has RS500?

You need RS Logix 500 software if you are communicating with any MicroLogix or SLC type PLC. RS Logix 5000 software (now Studio 5000) only works with Compact Logix and Control Logix PLCs. If you have more questions feel free to ask ! Have a great day, Durwood
