I unintentionally got a DSP off the shelf at the local Ace about a week ago. I didn't even know they had such a model until after I was trying to turn off the button beeps, lol! I'd try checking at a place like that or maybe on Midland's website, since they're now advertising the selectable-volume alert tones.

dont recommend doing that at all. you can damage the radio more by doing that.

this happened because a PNS product (public information statement) for rainfall reports somehow got into NWR and randomly got read out of nowhere (which doesnt usually happen). these types of PNS products usually have a ton of locations that got X amount of rainfall/X amount of wind speed, etc. i have a video from nearly a year ago (jesus) of my experience of a wind report PNS being read on NWR: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ppTGk2arZZl9r6c
