I still have them. Dougal is quite scruffy now because a paintwork touch up went so badly wrong that the only option was to weather it; same thing (same paint) happened with Jack Hackett. I've just sanded the blue coaches down because 2 years after painting them they're still tacky - same brand of paint that caused the problems with Jack and Dougal. Repainting them is my next project but I'm going to be using brush on enamel rather than spray on acrylic. It's weird because the Tamiya acrylics haven't given me any problems with other things I've built. Will be using Caledonian blue.

@@FeckHallBahn Some types of paint work better than others. Caledonian Blue is a nice colour. It would suit one of your steamies to a t.

@kellyashfordtrains2642 The weird thing is that I used these paints on pretty much everything except the live steam which need specialist paint and an expert user. It's only the blue and yellow that have been problematic.

I presume Dougal is electric? He runs beautifully.

@patrickporter6536 Yes, 6v battery driving a 6 - 12v motor via LocoRemote mini B controller now. It was probably a 3.7v LiPo back then.

I try to stay below a scale 10mph. Seeing otherwise perfect models running 100mph trains is something I dislike!!

So happy that you love Polly (so do I ) and you're absolutely right about Sir Handel (Sir Haydn in real life)- same wheel arrangement and everything. The diamond stack is actually British - Polly's prototype, Kerr Stuart Leader, worked in a paper mill. Chaloner (Schönes Pferd)'s prototype couldn't get more British really - Penrhyn quarries, same goes for the Mamod (based on a Quarry Hunslet). Personally I think Loch Crinan is the most British of the fleet with its GWR/Welshpool looks.

I'm sorry for your loss Kelly, same year my mum died. However, I'm not going to choose my accompaniment music to suit the preference of one subscriber.

Good to know you're up and about again; are you fully recovered? Kevin McCleod's is intensely boring!! No musical interest whatsoever AND he uses synthesised sound. Jingle Bells started out as a swing number anyway; it only got straightened out by music education.

They are. I did my best with them but they couldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding. Both Locoremote controlled, don't even move until 45%.
