Kellys Heroes. My favorite Donald Southerland character. He played with his son, in a western. Thought it was good.

Yvonne so good in movies. Especially westerns. In the Munsters, the equalizer. Well, actually westerns as well. I dodn't notice her so much. Until seeing her in westerns. She didn't a leading role. A great supportive actress though. I always liked her grit. Regardless. Commanding voice and beauty. Hard to dismiss.

Ice Cream Man story hits home hard. I have thought about my friend and coworker Cris who, with his wife and one of their daughters were in a terrible auto collision in August 2023. They were in Mini Cooper and collided with a commercial truck. Wife and daughter injured w daughter more severe. Both ok now. Cris, sadly died of his internal injuries during the night. You talk about 5 sec in your podcast before death. I have sat here many times and thought of Cris, my brother, parents, in-laws etc and what went through their minds. I would imagine you two have thought the same of loved ones and friends. Cris was a good friend. An outstanding physicist. We worked together many times and I cannot but think his last moments were about his family and perhaps some of us at work. The next workday I had an unexpected and unexplainable event in the lab. My wife told me it was Cris come to say goodbye…for now. So thank you both for the story as it made me reflect on some heavy thoughts. Ok. Let’s move on to happier conversation. Archie! Wow! Chris, you are spot on with this choice! There was and still is an abundance of talk about UFO. The twist with the Japanese element caught me off guard. Thinking of Archie I usually think of comic relief. This story you relate is like the TV show Riverdale. A dark-side of Archie and friends. Now that guy. You are right how there was so much more opportunity for character acting years ago. Surely with the reduction of comedy and drama shows as compared to the past the opportunities have become less and dared I say less meaningful at times in depth of character and story line. You pick some time like the mid to late 60’s for the abundance of opportunities but I differ in choosing the 50’s through the 80’s with a strong central late 50’s through 60’s for recurring appearances of character and recurring appearances of the same shows but also of the same actors in different shows. I am constantly telling that to my daughter who herself is a triple threat actress, singer and dancer that the business back then had much more opportunities. Ok Twilight Zone, “When the Sky Was Opened”. Great episode of one of two possible explanations. Either nature correcting itself that the men died OR that they were meant to be in and remain in a different spatial dimension and/or time! The greatest asset of science fiction is not just being a mirror of life but an agent of imagination! Great science fiction does that! Chris, is this the book you referenced. I have had mine over 45 years. Final note. I find Japanese Horror movie corny. Besides King vs Godzilla and Raymond Burr Godzilla I really don’t care for them. Ok. Shoot me now or when I get home. Macrox here. What can I say? Another spectacular show interesting discussion about sides of albums as I am a big Led Zeppelin fan. I must agree with both of you guys on Led Zeppelin four. I must say that I’m a big Chicago fan as well and I really like everything they do so I can’t really choose a particular side of an album that they had out same goes for Elton John and his work but I specially enjoyed both sides of don’t shoot me I’m only the piano player And goodbye yellow brick Road. I’m glad you thought the idea of doing a quick revisit on a classic comic might be something worthwhile look forward to seeing if you run with the idea and what you have in mind. Again I’m sorry that I’m not available through Twitter anymore, but I was finding some of it to be quite toxic on some of the interest and values that I have. The bad things were starting to clearly outnumber the good things for me there. Look forward to your next podcast.

Also other westerns besides the wild, wild west are rawhide bonanza and the high chaparral. Iconic themes, such as Batman, the green hornet, wonder, woman, and Superman. Saturday morning cartoons had a great number of theme songs that I remember Such TV night soaps, such as Dynasty, Knots landing, Falcon Crest, LA law, love, boat and fantasy island and of course, the great Perry Mason. Ray Anthony’s Peter Gunn. I have on 45. Of Course, Star Trek. There’s four too many and I love them all and I would be not able to do what you guys did in picking a top three. The beat of Hill Street, blues, or NYPD Blue comes to mind as well, as well as Blue Bloods. So as you know, by this point, I am no longer on social media. I will leave my comments here on KZbin although I listen to your podcast via the Apple app. As I had mentioned earlier, when I tried to post my comment, I was thinking about a small segment added to your show. Yes, God forbid making it even longer for you guys, and that was to single out a classic comic every week from the past about the significance of the story and the appearance of a villain or a particular antagonist. An example is Spider-Man issue to from 1963 that featured the vulture for the first time, and how Spider-Man was able to defeat him using a device that short circuits the vultures ability to fly. Wonder what you guys think of such a notion of the classic review it would have to be succinct and concise. Anyway even though I’m not on social media, I am still around every much part of listening to your podcast!

Dude. This arctic blast already sucks. 40-50 mph winds. My dogs are in and out, in minutes. 1 degree, my low tonight. You may escape that. But berrer than living in Alaska. I had minus 80 windchills there at times. That truly sucked. Tires can explode! My 6volt battery in my 1953 Chevy pickup still good to keep it running in 1990. The battery was under a panel, in front of the passenger seat. Not under the hood. New tech vs old tech. That truck designed to run in cold.
