good idea welding in brace and the weld will pull a solid 8th inch so if you dealing with door gaps make it fat cause you will be tight if you cut in perfect gap

Theyre easy to chop, every window is straight, try a modern truck that needs 4 cuts in the roof in a letter X to spread it .

Great job - really good mate - I'm a Brit, living in Sweden, got a '31 model A Tudor - I'm debating a 6" cut and your "how to" is an inspiration. Well done mate

Is that a 5 amp or 8 amp grinder? Seems a wee bit under powered from my perch.

Quite a simple job as all the pillars are vertical. How do you do a roof chop on a car with a sloping 'A' post? Whilst I can appreciate what the Rat Rod scene is all about, it does seem a shame that this car body has survived for so long only to be chopped about after eighty years..

Outstanding job and very detailed. I always looked at chopping to be so intimidating but now I will have a little more confidence to potentially put a 3" chop in my '30 pickup. I'm thankful for how square the bodies from the 20's and 30's are, don't have to worry about putting in filler plates and having to stretch the roof to line back up with the a-pillars, they just drop straight down.

Stephen, For a first attempt on video well done. My brother said today he'd like to do this. I can tell him about your video. Thanks a lot friend. Nice chevy in the back. Take care from Iowa U.S.A.

I wouldn't chop the top on my '30 A Coupe but a 2 door sedan, sure. That was the most common body style and especially since you started with a body only, not a complete car. Hopefully it wasn't too nice in the first place but that's the perfect candidate body for a rat rod. That was a good, instructive video although I would have to wear some ear protection while doing it.

Hi. I am all new to this. When I look for 1930 or even just I put in ford model A I can never find one just like the one you have. They all have trunk in the back. Did you cut out the trunk part of this car as well cut out the frame so it wont stick out?? Please let me know. Many thanks
