I was diagnosed with BPD in my 40s. It's a huge relief because knowing what was wrong with me all this time has given me a path to a much much better life. But I'm always a little sad that I didn't get diagnosed earlier. All of the missed opportunities, failed relationships and damage from substance abuse...But my recovery has come with a path back to walking with God and the very feeling of existing has a different feel to it now. What I would tell people is if you feel something is wrong inside of you, don't gaslight yourself. Keep trying to get a good diagnosis or at least describe for yourself what it is. I feel like a anxious avoidant gf would be easy to deal with. Im goodnwith giving reassurance, noticing opportunities to enrich the relationship, deepen the connection, heal the wounds.
