What's the name of the song? I convinced all my co workers to run around with a mop around the shop mopping the floor with this song blasting on the radio once I find the full song. I work at a woodworking shop and the shop hasn't been mopped in 5 years!

I thought I'd heard about everything Al Jolson recorded, but I never hear this one! Nice! Added it to my Al Jolson Pinterest Board!! By the way, I'd sure love to have victrola ( I think that's what they called it or is that the term for the later ones?)
@xshi66499 ай бұрын
Hey there! Yes, Victrola is the term for the later models manufactured by the Victor company. The machine in this video is an early custom built Victor circa 1906.

"Song of Four Seasons" is the name of the song. It's a famous Chinese song from the 30s. It's singing about a girl who's forced to leave her hometown and separate from her lover due to war. The lyrics depict her homesickness, loyalty to her lover, and her support for the war effort through the depiction of the four seasons(spring, summer, fall, and winter).

@@henrysonnemann2597 You are welcome! I wouldn't even attempt to translate the lyrics. I feel it would ruin the beauty of it.

I miss music sounded catchy and when the singer actually sings with his or hers voice
@xshi66499 ай бұрын
There’s no editing back then. Once the recording starts, the singer and the band must finish the recording without making any mistakes.
