'23 Custom Crew 4X4 rated to tow 9,000 lbs. 2.7 turbo = 430 lb ft torque @ 3,000 rpm. 5.3 V8 = 383 lb-ft @ 4,100 rpm's. 12% greater torque @ 27% less rpm's. 87 octane gasoline. 9.5 mpg towing. 20.5 mpg avg. 24 mpg on trip.

It's a diesel w/ spark plugs. Ford been making 2.7 twin turboV6 for a decade, GM 2.7 dual volute I-4 for 5 yrs, now Ram 3.0 hurricane I-6 replaced 5.7 hemi. Small displacement turbos replacing large cube naturally aspirated everywhere. Jeep has 4 bang turbo. Traverse, Acadia, Enclave, no more 3.6 V6 - smaller version of 2.7 turbomax (2.5 liters). Accept it, or drive old stuff.

@@ews360yeah I’m tired of people complaining and saying things about modern vehicles that are evolved (in better ways) like ford. They have come a long way, Toyota is at a decline. If they can’t accept it then that’s on them

@@Grumpyskater Evolved = Progress. Flatheads went away. Big cube V8's went away for a while in early 80's, replaced by Vegas, Chevettes, Escorts, Horizons, & Omnis. Luckily today, 5.7 & 5.3 naturally aspirated V8 dinosaurs are again being replaced, but this time by smaller cube, more efficient & cleaner smaller cube 4 bangs, but this time w/ more horse/torque w/ turbos. Climate change deniers can continue to drive diesel one-ton daily drivers, but wise up, drive what one needs, not what one wants.

@@golemkfc9335 87 octane gasoline per owner's manual. Not familiar with any gasoline engine without spark plugs. The 2.7 turbo is built to withstand turbo pressure from dual volute turbo via offset forged crank & connecting rods. Duramax diesel & Turbomax 2.7 both have 5 yr 100,000 drivetrain warranties vs 5 yr 60,000 for naturally aspirated gasoline V8's.

I tow 5300 lbs through the mountains from 1k feet up to 7k ft elevation with the 2.7, sure the gas mileage sucks but I'm not slamming the pedal to get up hills. Its not a 4 banger out of a civic... and if you are towing regularly up hills, why would you not just get the 3.0? the 2.7 is great for city driving and it tows without killing itself. Not a bad option for the right person.

Probably does pretty good. It’s turbocharged and has a better torque curve than the 5.3 and 6.2 does

I live in the ozark mountains, we like dramax diesel and big block Chevy

@@darrallipke8070 wouldnt think of the ozarks as a huge test of towing capability, but you cant go wrong with the duramax.

@@Smithx9541 it’s kinda like racing, lots of curves and elevation changes. It’s all the way on the gas then downshift and brake hard straighten up for 1/4 of a second then back to the floor again, it hurts them bad enough my wallet stays thin.

Facts are not a secret. Google search & learn. Ford 2.7 twin turbo makes 400 lb-ft torque @ 3,000 rpm (same as 5.0 coyote). GM 2.7 turbo I-4 dual volute makes 430 lb-ft @ 3,000 rpm.
