What is the audio unit you’re using to see the waveform @ 1:25 ?
@benrichards45544 ай бұрын
Just the internal oscilloscope module, and a Flexi with a sine waveform loaded. By the way, an updated oscilloscope and spectrum feature was added to Drambo - just hold on any input socket to see the incoming signal. It’s a resizable window so much more useful.

Ben, I know you do this largely thanklessly, and I wanted to tell you that your videos have been invaluable to me. I wanted to make my iPad work like a groove box, so I could come up with ideas, and I saw that Drambo has modular so I bought it. Even though I’m pretty familiar with virtual modular via vcv rack and bigwig grid, Drambo was just too confusing for me, but I don’t care for the AUM workflow and full daws like Logic are a little to tiny for me on iPad. After taking the time to watch some of your videos, im building amazing patches and even sequencing full tracks within Drambo and I couldn’t be happier. Thank you for these videos.

is there any way to randomize this
@benrichards45547 ай бұрын
Sure, you could randomize the midi notes going in in some way, through Drambo or some generative midi AUv3. Another way to do this would be to use a N-1 switch connected to a bunch of different effects. Then just use a stochastic gate (for random timing) and a random modulator as the index signal to the switch.
@normanswick7 ай бұрын
@@benrichards4554 yeah, thanks for the reply. I'm not that competent though lol just to be clear using a stochastic gate would involve using an audio signal right and not midi? @@Synfluence101 sure, it’s a sampler in a way - but it allows some interesting interpretations of the sample in that you can seamlessly jump from one frame to the next. Plus all the wave effects are really unique, especially for wavetables with less harmonic content to begin with.

Bit late to the party but love this approach. It turns Drambo into an Effectrix or Infiltrator type device but you can plug in your own AUV3s and you can go over the top modulating device paramemeters with LFOs. Got to try this.

@benrichards4554 Жыл бұрын
Do you mean sample the audio from Drambo track 1 into an instance of koala? Use the auv3 processor version of koala and place it on track 2 (or whatever). You can then tap the input socket of koala, and select the output of track 1 by tapping the main rack (which shows like a mixer). Tap the output socket of track 1. Alternatively, you can tap track 1s header and route the output to the track that has koala on it, instead of routing it to the master.

Hey Ben! I think I'm getting confused, but I haven't tried it to confirm. When you use MIDI to Poly to send the MIDI to the different racks, how is cycling through the different instruments? When you hit notes, I'm only hearing some of the instruments but not all, which seems to be what you intended, but I'm not seeing how it chooses which channel it's getting routed to. Let me know if you happen to see this!
@benrichards4554 Жыл бұрын
I believe this just works round robin. It isn’t doing anything with actual midi channel, but rather the output of the module.
