Good vid. Working on my 582 clutch. Do you think 1045 steel would be good enough for the drive shaft on these tractors? Not really wanting to spend for the 4140 shaft material.
@metalworksmachineshop2 ай бұрын
@@brunomahle1618 1045 will work. Just don't pull a plow or a tractor pull sled.. thanks for the comment 👍
@brunomahle16182 ай бұрын
@@metalworksmachineshop I plan to pull a 10" single bottom plow and a trailer with about a half cord of fresh cut oak. ....but not at the same time....lol 4140 or 1045?
@metalworksmachineshop2 ай бұрын
@brunomahle1618 honestly, it'll probably be fine.. the shearing pin should go before the shaft will.
@brunomahle16182 ай бұрын
@@metalworksmachineshop Thanks! I was kinda concerned with drilling the 4140 and dulling my cobalt drills. New coiled pins are on the way. Putting a $20 Kohler KT17 II that I went trough in this tractor. Thanks again!
@Charliemmafan9 ай бұрын
I think you just got a lemon on your drill and if I was you I would go buy a new drill and then within like a month or so take the old one back with the new receipt because I've had a couple of the Bauer 20v drills and I've drilled through thick oil pipe posts for fencing a lot and they work great for me so I think the drills are great or they have been for me but nonetheless I appreciate your video!

Thanks for the video. I have a 582 exactly like the one you have here. My clutch pads had some work done by a guy some years ago. Something broke in there and I cannot remember what part it was. It may have been on the flywheel mechanism. He told me he could not find another part for it. Would you happen to know what part that be that could break? Maybe I will take some photos and post them here. I do know he used that welding glue to fix it and so far it has worked. I just would eventually like to fix it. But I have had that tractor since new and it still runs and looks really great. It does seem to rattle quite a bit though. Maybe that is where it is coming from. Any chance you can do a video on adjusting the clutch brake on it as well?

Don't use washer fluid. Washer fluid contains alcohol, (methanol), it encourages rekindle. And it is poisonous. As far as a water can having a bladder, I've never seen one. (Been fireman since 1997). Any water will be fine so long as it is clean. Pond or stream water will work. But it'll go rancid quite fast. So, ABC is your best bet if you're on a budget and can't afford a water can. Just having extinguishers in the shop isn't sufficient. Depending on your shop size and how packed it is, will affect how quickly you can get your hands on an extinguisher. If you can't get to it quickly enough, it may be useless by the time you get back to the fire with it. In that case, escape is your best option. Look into automatic dry powder/dry chemical extinguishers. They're expensive. But, they're always ready and activate by themselves. No plan is perfect. But thanks to technology, others' experiences, and free education through numerous dependable sources, we can minimize the risk of failure without stopping work.

Kind of a barn find while I was looking/ buying tools using Facebook marketplace... but anyway, both 3 speed manual 1000 machines need total rebuilds disk, teaser,the piece that pushes teaser, throughout baring, and one of them also need both springs.. do u have any info or ideas for a heavier spring.. without breaking the bank.. just the throughout baring is 86$ at my local dealer..thanks!
