It's a fast boat for sure, but simple to rig and a whole lot of fun from light winds and a breeze. As a beginner, I'd choose a small or medium size sail (red or blue), depending on your weight and wind conditions. Once you are comfortable and gained experience, you can go for the Gold (large) sail. It's comparable to a Laser without the headaches and feel of dragging a drogue anchor behind you. Cost wise its about the same as a Laser. The sails last a whole lot longer on a M14 (years). If you never sailed, but a fast learner and want a fun, responsive, and athletic boat, this is a great pick.
