So when the oil pressure is low and the temperature is high you have to stop the engine and carry out a forced landing or just simply look for the nearest airport?

Congrats on the sponsorship!! And I totally understand about the IFR and not being able to continue to film videos, because by the time you’re even started filming a lesson your 3 lessons ahead!

I really enjoyed it and am about to go try it myself. What's the best alternate? There looks to be a good option to the east and one to the west?

I still get a weird feeling when I hear "7637V." I have so many hours in that airplane and lots of serious IFR flying in IMC.

The reason I love the RG is because I flew that very airplane so many hours!

I had smoke in the cockpit of a C172 caused by FOD blocking the radio cooling fan. Initial indication of the overheat was the G430 resetting every few mins. Then transponder became intermittent, then radio static and finally visible smoke. Definitely disconcerting in any aircraft, large or small.

Sounds like you didn't check NOTAMs otherwise you would have known your destination airport was closed to fixed wing aircraft. Judging from the remark your instructor made, he also missed the NOTAM. I trust that was a valuable lesson learned. Good job on the reroute.
@thecardinalpilot75707 жыл бұрын
Honestly speaking when you fly to the same place weekly for a couple years you get complacent in simple task that seem routine day to day. This was a lesson I learned and I hope others do as well. I did read the Notams off ForeFlight but I didn't call the WX briefer. This was the last time I used Foreflights NOTAM list. Lol lesson learned.

How were you able to log the jet time without a type rating? Do you not have to be qualified to fly the plane to log time in it?

bad instructor
@jeeeeeeees7 жыл бұрын
If you like this persons way of being an instructor, you're a bad instructor aswell. Very few people needs this "serious and assertive" way of talking to them. That's the way you treat 14 year olds not interested in the subject whatsoever. When you have adults, focusing and wanting to learn, and listening to you - you don't need to bark at them or have a bad attitude. Did they teach you nothing in CRM? If you're calm and confident, that rubs off. If you're on edge and barking, that only makes it worse.
