I replaced the thumb sticks but the light doesn’t work nor does it charge so I turned the ribbon the other way and still no light or charging. What did I mess up?

@@supertesla19yes. The controller works, just not the light or charger which was working before I opened it to change the joysticks.

Loved this game back in the 90s when gameboy didn’t have colour I played the shit out of the original blue and red now I’m 36 turning 37 and I just started playing again I’m having fun haha

Some important notes for people who have bought a newer version controller: - When you open the case, UNPLUG THE BATTERY FIRST before you take the blue ribbon out. - There's a good chance the plug for the battery is on the right side of the internals, and the black cable is at the top with the red cable below it. WHEN YOU REASSEMBLE THE CONTROLLER MAKE SURE WHATEVER YOU DO YOU PLUG THE BATTERY IN AFTER YOU PLUG THE BLUE RIBBON BACK IN. - The black section that the battery sits in is held in place by one single screw under the battery, unscrew that to take the section out. - The ribbon underneath the black section plate slides through a gap, so make sure when you put the controller back together you feed that ribbon back through the gap.

To make the spearow count by two in your Pokédex don’t evolve it trade it by a farfetch’d then catch other and evolve so there would be 3 spearow count

Great video. I have a pro tip for anyone taking anything apart -- before you undo/remove a part take a picture of what it looks like. That way when you're putting it back together you can look at the "good" state to remind yourself which way things are supposed to go. It also makes it less likely that you might miss a step when putting it back together since if you take a picture before you remove something, all you need to do is follow the pictures in reverse. This takes a little longer but is more safe.

Black border card just means it’s guaranteed to have a hollow or better, white border doesn’t mean it won’t have one, it just means it’s not likely.
