As a note, Overclock doesn't stack with ultraboost, and call to arms doesn't stack with homeland defense Ultaboost also gives the same buff as overclock, the only difference is the 10x stacks it gives (as well as increasing its pierce from 15 to 30 for some reason)

Bloons only start scaling after the first round they appear naturally; a DDT from round 0-90 = one from 90, but not from 91 and up :)

fun fact Dr Fresh, Im not sure if you are familiar since it doesnt seem to get much attention, in the study of betta splendens, it is found that they do and can live in a communal setting, even with other males, the key is to have a densely enough planted environment that breaks up line of sight and give each fish around a 1-2 square feet of water around them where they cant see any other fish, and what was observed in captivity is that with a big enough tank to allow for all your bettas to have atleast that amount of water column to claim as their territory without line of sight to any other fish, they wont fight as much if at all, and might even breed! they also seem to set up a communal rotation where when one fish leaves its territory, another fish will fill that spot, freeing up the territory they were i for another to move in and so on, and since they almost never see eachother if its planted correctly, it just creates a loop they go through as they explore their environment, and mixing small things up seems to help a lot. I currently have a female betta with 10-15 white cloud minnows and have had no fighting issues or stressing out, the betta doesnt even chase other fish or bother the snails. the reason the hobby says to never pair them in a tank together or with bigger fish is because its way easier to do that and get the sale of the fish that way to buyers who dont know what they are doing, rather than explain that you MUST mimic their environmental conditions(which you should do anyway for any pet as best you can in these kinds of hobbies). its the same reason betta bowls and 1gal tanks are a thing despite a full grown betta needing a minimum of 10-15 gallons with proper planting and decor to be really happy
@DrFesh28003 ай бұрын
Thank you for all the information! I actually didn't know about the territory rotation behavior! I did try something similar with pea puffers, where I kept them with themselves and other species, and planted it with Indian plants like cryptocoryne, and they left (almost) all the tank inhabitants alone. The tank I had it in briefly before setting up the temporary bucket tank had many bushier plants like java moss and guppy grass, but there was a lot of open water because I was trying to breed celebes rainbow fish, and my other tanks had either potential prey or predators. I couldn't agree with you more about trying to mimic a creature's habit when keeping them, which is one of the things fueling me to make an intertidal marine paludarium for sea slaters (Ligia exotica). I'm hoping that if they feel like they are still in the wild, to an extent at least, that they will reliably breed in a glass box. AntsCanada here on KZbin is doing something similar for a species of fungus growing termites! Thanks for giving me things to think about, and have a good night! 🐟👍
@MrSnowFoxy3 ай бұрын
@@DrFesh2800 not a problem, Happy to help spread knowledge, and bettas are often overlooked because the pet trade assumes to know enough to reliably sell and keep them and have methods for breeding them. There was a guy on youtube but I forget the channel name and he was how I originally found out about this research paper on betta splendens, and he actually had a tank going with multiple bettas living communally with little to no issues. My tank with my single female and some white cloud minnows has a ton of hornwart and some low light plants and a couple floating bamboo plants with a layer of duckweed on top, my filter went out a couple weeks ago and Im in the process of getting ready to move so I havent been able to replace it yet, so another bonus of super heavy planted tanks, even if not aesthetically pleasing is that I can go brief periods with just weekly partial water changes and everyones healthy and happy as far as I can tell. But bettas environment can be in mangrove like environments with low water circulation so if anything it probably makes her feel more at home cheers 🥂

Little correction, for a long-finned Betta, you should avoid artificial plants to prevent fin rot. Those are good for turtle tanks, as they mess up the plants pretty badly. Also, if a Betta is an Apex in your tank, it doesn't need a hiding place in particular (shrimps on the other hand WILL need them), but a "betta bed" is highly recommended. Amazon has different types of shelfs on suction cups, which Bettas love to sleep/nap on.
