Great Idea! I will add the step of a strip of thin lath on the bottom of the joists and do the same.

If you decide to insulate what would you use? Also are you planning to put panel over or leave it open?
@CollinsCountry6 сағат бұрын
@@KetoJames If I did it I would use closed cell spray foam for walls and open cell spray foam for ceiling. I’d probably leave it all open myself.
@CollinsCountry6 сағат бұрын
We got quotes for around 8K to spray foam but ultimately I didn’t think it was worth it. I havnt regretted it…. Yet. Lol

2 years later, how do you feel about the Satin paint finish for the walls? I'm finishing my basement and everywhere I see online says to not use satin paint unless you have a full skim-coated level 5 drywall finish as it will show all of the imperfections. I was leaning using matte (because I really hate the look of flat paint), but noticed you used satin! I have a similar drywall finish as you did. Thanks!
@CollinsCountry2 күн бұрын
@@Steven_DM hello. I did the drywall so I can see the butt joints with the use of satin paint but no one notices except for me. Not even my wife lol. I have kids and would for sure go satin again to do it all over. Thanks for watchin.

That’s incredible! The amount of liquid that has to evaporate to get to the sugar. Amazing! Can you do anything with the sap without evaporating it down to the syrup? Or is this the only way to use maple sap?
@CollinsCountryКүн бұрын
+@piqueseasoncuisine you can drink it. Native Americans would drink it when they were sick. It has a lot of electrolytes and other helpful nutrients. It’s not just sugar water:)

The one thing I do slightly different, I drilled the holes in the side of the bucket just below the lids. This prevents any standing water from dripping into the bucket, and stops debris falling in. Also leaves the lid so that I can place bricks or rocks on top so the wind doesn't blow them over if they have been emptied recently.
