Its about Chernobyl Nuclear Power plant but in another universe there's tonnes of dangerous emissions (Radioactive waves) spreading scientific artefacts everywhere that are extremely valuable. This is mixed with various mutations happening to people there. Stalkers are people who come in and earn a learning from this wild west like world, selling these artefacts whilst trying to survive. Due to the lawlessness of the area it does attract criminals and bad egg type characters...however there are groups being formed trying to give some seminence of law and order. Its on Xbox Gamepass ultimate so you can pay for 1 month and give it a try for like £12...if you don't like it there are millions of other games on it.

aw thats class, deffinately try "darth mod" if you do. it sorts out the AI and adds a tonne of new features that work really well

Unlike the recent total wars where you just get money for winning battles, raiding and sacking. This you have to just focus on building wealth from the off. I never build anything but one church and everything else wealth. One university per theatre. It’s so different but it gets rewarding.

I am playing against PC, I playing at normal difficulty. Total war games are notorius for not changing the AI's behaviour but just giving them cheats. would you prefer I played on a higher difficulty?

I've not played Gladius but after a quick watch of a youtube on it, I would say its more complicated. It's got a lot more variety with alot more to learn as different races play differently, but its nothing you can't get used to and the game does a good job of pushing you the right direction. I've been playing this game since Total War: warhammer 1 which was years ago. Its a great game that has been my primary source of entertainment for ages. The only negative thing is that for the whole experience its reliant on DLC, its never been that bad at £4-12. its felt correctly priced...except for the last one but the community kicked off about that and without going into detail, its sorted.
