Your living room is beautiful. I would leave the shelves black because it coordinates with your theme colors. I would paint the cabinet a cream color not stark white.

Michelle, everything is beautiful the way it is. The black coordinates with everything in your living area. I would leave it just the way it is. To me it helps those pops of gold decor stand out more. Beautiful setup.
