I've never used a propane heater - didn't realize they caused condensation - interesting! "Because propane (C3H8) reacts with oxygen and forms water (H20), carbon dioxide (CO2) and heat. And when the water cools down or touches something cold, condensation will occur." OK just like gasoline also. Yeah I got this tent from FleetFarm - Costco still has it stock. I think it's gone everywhere else.

I bought one & I am setting up tomorrow. One thing I’m concerned about & super surprised no body has mentioned or shown how the door shuts. Is there Velcro at the bottom of the door too? I’m a bit concerned about mice entering. The island I am on has quite a few. Need to some how think how to seal it up better may have to resort to duct tape. Going to be living in for 3 months until my winter cabin is available again .
@publiclandadventures2 жыл бұрын
I would do my best to keep food out of the tent and in storage totes to deter mouse invasion. As far as the tent closing. There is Velcro on the bottom where the doors overlap. There are also stake down points on the screen door. I always wait to stake them down until after I have my things in the tent. Thanks for watching. Please like share and subscribe. And good luck with your adventure in your new tent
@suryacw53422 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for the reply. That helps big time knowing this. I find it kinda odd No one has talked about the lack of seal to the tent. I’ve lived deep in nature for a long time it doesnt take much for mice to get in even without food. Also, super curious about even if it keeps mosquitos out. I think it’s important people know this cause every review on this tent doesn’t talk about it. I actually bought it without knowing. Personally I wished I knew I probably wouldn’t have bought it. It’s something that’s important to me. Thanks again for the quick reply!

I had mine set up 6 months at our Deer Lease.The doors seal good, never had any problems with Critters getting in.
@suryacw53422 жыл бұрын
That’s deceiving to say it seals up good. It doesn’t. There are random small strips of Velcro holding the floor to the wall together and entry way does not have Velcro all the way across. I live deep in nature & do not eat food in my tent or cook in it. All sorts of insects were coming in….. for anyone watching that wants to know this tent is not air sealed tight whatsoever. I poly tuck taped the whole bottom to keep it air tight for heat & insects coming in. I don’t know how it will go removing the tape but at the rate insects were coming in I didn’t care. I’ll take my time to remove it when i leave this spot after some months. I’ve heard people buying more Velcro strips too. I did do this with the entry way (gets expensive where I live though for this tape) anyways with this tuct tape it worked great! Not all tape will work though….I tried a variety this one is vapor barrier tuck tape worked really good & seems to come off easily but you have ti be gentle. I wished I would have seen a comment like this it would of helped me! So sharing for anyone who runs into this problem. I’d say it’s the only shitty thing about this tent! Otherwise I love it

Thanks for the evaluation. Overall, it looks like a decent wall tent. But having a weld break early in its life and being a thin wall is a concern. The biggest surprise was your use of JB Weld for a structural application that sees tension. Has that held? I can see its use for shear forces. But I can't see it getting even remotely close to handling the tension that 'properly' welded steel tubing should routinely handle. If it's that thin, some gusseting may be needed.

@@publiclandadventures Thanks for the info. I'll have to 're-calibrate' my opinion about where JB Weld is applicable. Since viewing your video, I've read a bunch of reviews. It generally gets high marks, but pole strength is a fairly common complaint. My guess is it has a lot to do with the stresses incurred during tent setup and teardown. Maybe some pulleys, straps, or tripod to ease assembly would be good.
